Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral homes daydream 30 at Logan Village 121Nov 17, 2014 8:34 pm Security screens and doors have been installed, well most of them have, still waiting on some flyscreens for the double hangers. Love the security doors out to the alfresco, they look so good and match in really well with the stacker doors. Lots of smaller stuff done too, and the outside has been cleaned up with a site clear and all rubbish removed. Practical completion is due tomorrow so we are getting ready to do our walk through tomorrow afternoon, seems like there is still a lot more to do before we need to do that, maybe they did it all today, lol. Seriously looking forward to tomorrow, hope it all pans out and we get to do the walk through but we'll see. Here's the latest pics, click on the link for more. It's now scheduled for Monday, just hope it happens then. On the plus side they have put in the cupboard doors and laid the carpet. Carpet is Buccaneer (a silver level upgrade), just couldn't go with the standard range and really like this one so didn't feel the need to go up any more levels, very happy with it and how it looks. At least now when we go to the build we have something soft to walk on instead of concrete and tiles. Click on the link for more pics. Is that carpet brownish or greyish, I can't really see in the pics. I was planning on going with a dirt coloured carpet, but now that we've continued the black/white/grey theme throughout the house, we'll probably go with a grey. Dark, but not too dark. Definitely not light with my three monsters! Finally did our walk through yesterday, all went pretty well, pointed out all the little faults we could see, mainly paint issues because of all the trades that have gone through the place since the painters finished, putting dirty hands on walls etc. Apart from the little things there were a couple of slightly bigger issues, a linen cupboard door that has warped and will need to be replaced and a couple of others but still nothing to lose sleep over. Just have to wait now until all is fixed then we get to move in, woohoo. So different than the past couple of months. But at least it gives us a chance to get all the moving in things organised. Have these pics that I forgot I had of the ensuite splashback and mirrors, very happy with the look, place needed a bit of bling I think. I hope they are my tiles coz they are lovely too! Building our first dream home in NSW Hey Cristyandpercy1, Do you mean the floor tiles? They are Gastone Carrara White Semi Gloss. The splashback tiles are Mosaic Metacom White Composite Metal. They do look good, very happy with them although we should have taken them around the sides where we went with plain white because we thought at the time that it would be too much bling. Oh well. Now you have me worried ours are too plain. Your wife has great taste. Yey they are out floor tiles in the ensuite!! Love them Building our first dream home in NSW Re: Coral homes daydream 30 at Logan Village 139Nov 29, 2014 3:27 pm Yep, she sure has great taste and not only in tiles. But then you're assuming that she picked them and not me. Oh, alright she did pick them and the floor tiles too, I think the only tile I picked in the entire house was the ensuite shower wall tile. Everything else was down to her and it all looks great. Floor in the ensuite looks fantastic you will love it when yours goes in. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to see the finish line, but only inching toward it. Maybe I should consider myself lucky that we're so far out we've barely cleared the starting line! LOL Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13746 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1768 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74688 |
