Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 09, 2014 7:41 pm We are just about to sign a contract with Sekisui for our KDR and I am a bit confused about One of the clauses which states: "Provide for the importation and placement of 140T of suitable fill material to reinstate the natural ground level of the site after Clients demolition and vegetation removal, based on assumed post demolition-levels." We are comparing two demolition quotes, which are around the same cost. One states it includes "grading of site" and the other one states "The site will be re-mediated to natural ground level." Do the two quotes mean the same thing but using different wording? Do they make the clause in the Sekisui contract unnecessary? Is a clause like that normal with KDR's? Thanks everyone! Re: Demolition quotes and siteworks question - Help please! 3Sep 11, 2014 12:30 am Sounds like the demo companies are saying the same thing but your builder is saying if they don't do that them we will and I assume hitting you up for the costs.I haven't seen any KDR contracts but I would think they all would have something similar to cover the extra cost if the Demo changes the site significantly. Most big demo companies have their act together and the builder won't need to use that clause. good luck http://i1028.photobucket.com/albums/y342/jmfieldwork1/IMG_4069_zpsfd6a18cc.jpg Re: Demolition quotes and siteworks question - Help please! 4Sep 14, 2014 11:26 pm Thanks insider. It sounds like that to me too, but I think I will check with big companies to make sure. I really hope we won't have to pay for the fill - that is &4900 I would much rather save!
