Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 09, 2014 4:30 pm After many, many hours on here, I am finally at the point where I can start my very own thread of our build. Thank you to everyone on here who commented on my original post with one of our first sketches, and everyone else who comments on all other posts - it is just such helpful information to a new builder! We have a lovely 2000m2 block in Perth, SOR, where we get to build our long term home. A silly move really, building for the first time, and making it our forever home, but some things just fell into place, and we are lucky that we can do it now whilst our kids are still young. I'm not a big personal information sharer online, so specific info about the location and my family will be limited, but happy to answer questions as they come up! We are just making the final changes to our pre-start list, as like many of you seem to have done, we went in with a pretty large list of things to get quotes for, that we then had to sit down and decide whether it was worth increasing the budget for! Then, we can finalise our finance, and sign documents, and hopefully be under way. We got building approval last week form the council, so it seems things are moving forwards in the right direction. My hubby and I always said we couldn't build a house together unless we won lotto, but here we are anyway (no lotto win sadly), and doing quite a good job of remaining sane and making joint decisions. We are just both so opinionated and not always good at coming to a middle ground. So, here it is... There are still a couple of small changes that do not appear on this plan, but its basically how it goes. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/ ... 939095.jpg Looking forward to being able to give something back for all the help we have received Re: Ok here we go!
