Browse Forums Building A New House Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 361Jun 08, 2016 7:46 am Yep, our builder was the same, appliances, hot water and bathroom fittings were done a day before PCI. Even light switch covers were left off. Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 362Jun 08, 2016 6:44 pm What idiots!! Thank god that this happened before handover though - how awful to get keys and then this happen and have no hot water! I have requested for our developers to put our fence up asap. Touch wood it doesn't happen again Literally going to have to get onto home and contents insurance as soon as we get keys in case! Good news is that our second PCI meeting is booked for Tuesday morning! Hopefully all the items we picked up have been rectified and there aren't any more delays. Then we should get keys straight after if all okay as we've got the ball rolling now for our final progress payment (apparently this takes up to a week to process as the bank has to value the property??). Would have preferred to wait until after the inspection to pay them but we can't afford it holding things up. Painters booked for Thurs/Friday (thankfully they are flexible as we know them) and then hopefully start the move Saturday if all goes to plan! Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 364Jun 08, 2016 7:27 pm You will probably find you need to organise your insurance to start on that date pretty soon as you will need to provide this to the bank prior to them releasing payment Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 365Jun 08, 2016 8:07 pm Decka You will probably find you need to organise your insurance to start on that date pretty soon as you will need to provide this to the bank prior to them releasing payment Thank you for letting me know - I had no idea it had to be organized prior to payment being released. Have just emailed our broker about it - thanks! Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 373Jun 11, 2016 12:18 am Guys please be careful with cheap insurance companies like aami etc, they don't do new for old replacement, please make sure your policy states new for old replacement of home and contents and insure you add enough in for removal or debris and GST! they use recycled goods when repairing your home! At NAB we use a policy under written by Allianz which is an amazing policy and so many people after the storms had problems with Coles aami and insurances like that using recycled fencing! I can't stress enough that everyone needs to really look at what you are covered for Re: HGWA First Home Build - Ocean Road Estate 374Jun 14, 2016 3:01 pm Natalie92 Guys please be careful with cheap insurance companies like aami etc, they don't do new for old replacement, please make sure your policy states new for old replacement of home and contents and insure you add enough in for removal or debris and GST! they use recycled goods when repairing your home!
