Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 402Mar 11, 2016 8:09 pm I was wondering how long it took for brickies to complete their work on everyone's houses. It seems to be taking forever for us, but I may have unrealistic expectations! They started on Tuesday 1st March and as of today are still not finished. They took last Friday off for the Clipsal Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 406Mar 23, 2016 3:06 pm Hey all, I have added my build in a new thread. Hope you enjoy. viewtopic.php?t=82566 viewtopic.php?t=82566 Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 407Apr 20, 2016 9:20 pm Does anyone know how long electrical takes to be installed before the gyprocking takes place? Our gyprocking is meant to be delivered next Tuesday and only have a small window of time to get our data cabling installed, bit worried about the timing of everything... Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 408Apr 21, 2016 3:52 pm Our electrical went in the day after bricks were finished, and the gyprocking began that night. I would arrange for your data cabler to go to site the same day as the electrical guys do. Get in touch with your SS to discuss. Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 409Apr 21, 2016 10:05 pm Thanks @bobbin we spoke with our data people today luckily they are good and we will have everything done the day gyprocking goes in at this stage it will be Wednesday, Meeting him tomorrow to go over all the details. Thanks for your advice:) Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 410May 27, 2016 8:08 pm Another item for people to check at their inspections before hand over... Noticed quite a draft and high pitched whistle coming through our front bedroom windows the last few nights with the crazy wind and rain. Checked it tonight and found there was NO silicon deal between the window frame and the gyprock. That's where the breeze is coming from! The sides have been done as they are 'visible' but the tops and bottoms were completely missed. Going to go around the rest of the house during the day over the weekend to check where else has not been done! Thought our houses were meant to be 6-star energy compliant! They bang on about it when designing the house and charge lots for insulation to ensure it is but when it comes to simple, practical steps like sealing the house it looks like it's been missed. Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 412Jun 29, 2016 2:40 pm I have been doing a bit of research on how to do a time lapse of our build (when it eventually starts...). From Gerry rigging goPro's to car batteries and all sorts of other set ups. For anyone interested the thing that I have found seeming to be the most economical/easiest is the Brinno. Www.brinno.com I have ordered the TLC200 pro which should last up to 40 odd days on battery, via eBay. Looks like a pretty cool little gadget to keep track of the build and make some cool videos for later. BTW I have no affiliation with Brinno in case you are wondering. Hopefully I will be able to upload some videos once it arrives and things get underway. viewtopic.php?t=82566 Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 413Aug 31, 2016 12:13 pm Hi Everyone, apologies for bumping up this thread but we are in the process of signing with Fairmont after a terrible experience with another builder. Fairmont have been great so far Some questions if I may, What is Fairmont's Selections process in terms of whats required to pick all your things out. Thanks Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 414Aug 31, 2016 10:19 pm You have a couple of appointments, and then a final builders interview. Kitchens - Supreme Kitchens - kitchen and other joinery Interiors - Direct Interiors - appliances, flooring, bathroom ware Clipsal - Electrical selections (or you can do your own electrical diagram) Final builders interview, where you choose bricks/roof/windows/paint/etc Try and get as much of the stuff included with the salesperson instead of adding it on later in selections Go into the kitchen place, and the interior place a couple times before and look what is included for standard Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 415Nov 25, 2016 5:11 pm Hey guys, I have an appt tomorrow morning to sign contracts with Fairmont - really excited! The Sales Rep has been superb and maximised bang for buck within my modest budget. I was wondering if anyone knows the general cost difference between getting laminate flooring VS floor tiles though Direct Interiors? Can I just rock up to Direct Interiors anytime to have a suss at the selections? Will they install the skirtings or leave them off for us? Will they install the skirtings or leave them off for us? i would be surprised if Skirting isnt done as its a must. depending on your flooring if you go Laminate youll need beading anyway to make sure that any spilt water doesnt get under the laminate flooring. Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 419Dec 17, 2016 5:07 pm We asked for them to be left off and they said they wouldn't do it. They also said that installers these days 'prefer' to install it up to the edge and cover it with beading Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 420Dec 18, 2016 7:23 am HFBMPC Hi all, Does anyone know what Fairmont's policy is for people organising flooring after handover? Will they install the skirtings or leave them off for us? Our Site supervisor said that they prefer to nail on ( they wont tack) but said he could leave them all off uncut and we would have to get them installed later. We opted to have them all done prior so will have some beading when floors go in.
