Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 247Jun 11, 2015 8:50 pm Jonooo Haha Skye, we are with my parents too, only been here a couple of months though and hopefully only another 6-8 weeks! Is your block in the stage they are digging out at the moment that looks almost done? Our settlement was set for September last year but then became late October so by this time next year hopefully you guys will be at the stage we are now! It cuts things real fine with getting council approval before Christmas. Our council approval came in only 2-3 weeks before trades finished for the year so we ended up getting the slab started first thing back after the Christmas break. Thanks for the compliments on the kitchen! Appliances go in just before handover heather to avoid thieves breaking in and pinching them, which is good because we're supplying our own appliances and haven't payed them off or picked them up yet! And sorry for all the double or triple posts. Can't work out why it's doing that and don't know how to delete the double ups! To be honest I'm not sure! I assume it would be. We looked at it on the land release plan and it looked to be in that area but we didn't walk out to it. Saving that for Sunday Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 249Jun 11, 2015 8:53 pm Jonooo Are you guys moving far? We can't wait to get down there. It seems to be such a nice suburb and our neighbors are lovely. Now we are local. Currently renting in christies and will be moving back in with the in laws in Noarlunga so not far at all Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 250Jun 14, 2015 9:35 pm Got our pre approval for finance today. At what point did you hand over your deposit to the bank? After builders Co reacts were signed or? It's confusing me lol I know we don't have any repayments until land sales in September but don't know when the actual initial deposit is required Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 251Jun 14, 2015 9:42 pm Is this about your land? We are pre approved for our land and although the land is ours we haven't been through the official cooling off period or paid our deposit, we are starting to wonder if they will expect our deposit considering how much work we have put into getting our building contract sorted (our builder and land people talk etc so they know we are intending to build on the block as soon as practical) they know we are going to build but I guess they will expect their money at some point, but the longer we wait is fine with me! Our builder on the other hand expected deposit straight after we signed to get the ball rolling on approvals and soil testing etc. I hope I have helped in some way Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 252Jun 14, 2015 9:46 pm heatherkam Is this about your land? Just not sure at what point in the process we have to hand over the full deposit for the loan or if we only pay the deposit for the land to start with. Might have to call the home loan manager tomorrow with my list of questions! Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 253Jun 14, 2015 9:50 pm Yeah for us we pay deposit for the land only and once settlement takes place (for us that is October) that's when the conveyancer will hand over all monies to the land owner. Is your land people asking you to make progress payments for the deposit or something? Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 254Jun 14, 2015 9:52 pm Yes sounds like your home loans person would be your best bet, they know what type of loan etc you are having. We are different to some as we already own a home so at this point will have our current one running and then our land loan as well till we sell Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 255Jun 14, 2015 9:53 pm Ours is a house and land package so it's all done through Fairmont. Which is probably why is confusing me lol. He only said progress payments were required after the build starts and that no payments are required at all until the land settles. So I'm wondering if the bank just kind of holds the deposit until September or if we don't need to pay it until then Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 256Jun 14, 2015 9:56 pm Ah I c, yeah ask your mortgage broker about that, should be pretty straight forward for them to help with Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 257Jun 15, 2015 2:41 pm Can anyone here tell me how much it costs to add pot drawers at selections with Supreme? Thankyou Re: Fairmont Home builders - South Australia 260Jun 15, 2015 5:35 pm Thankyou Man1 and Jonoo. We just got our soil variation and it is $15,000 more than the estimate So we are trying to work out our budget for selections as accurately as we can! Does anyone know the per panel cost of vinyl wrap or 2pack doors?
