Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 29, 2014 7:31 pm Hi, Just after some advice. I am planning on buying a knock down rebuild. The block is 10 x 80. It is flat across the building area. I have a soil test booked that I expect to be M. To raise the building area so that the top of the slab is 600 mm higher than the current level, what would I be looking at site cost wise? Some builders like Indigo & McCarthy homes seem to include a 500mm cut & fill on M class soil in the price. We are thinking of going with Coral. Cottesloe 36. We would also be expecting to put in a pool so would have fill from that. MY only worry is having to put in a retaining wall (cost) as it's only a 10m frontage. Thanks for any info. Re: Rough estimate of site costs 2Aug 29, 2014 11:16 pm If your thinking it will be a class M site then that's a moderately reactive soil but because it's a knock down that will make a class P site.So you most likely will end up with a engineer designed rigid slab or piers so may just want to add that to the budget. Re: Rough estimate of site costs 3Sep 02, 2014 8:41 pm Hi all, I just got my survey done and the ground is 1 metre below where the habitable area level would need to be. Is trying to raise it that far with fill & drop edge beam slab too much trouble? I was quoted 50k by the sales guy at Coral. Not sure how accurate that is. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13107 Is anyone building with Mojo and have a recent site cost tender 0 15954 |
