Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 31, 2014 12:41 am Hi there
We are building with HomeGroup WA at Honeywood Estate, Wandi. We were lucky enough to find a decent sized block of 674m2, however is a corner block with its challenges, being almost triangle shaped. After much researching of display homes and determining what looks we liked, we drew up a mud map and took it to several builders to see what they could do. Interestingly we only came across two who gave it a good go, one being HomeGroup WA and the other Dale Alcock. We decided to go with HomeGroup WA and like many has taken some time to progress with paperwork, but just received final contracts this week, while the final detailed drawings are still a few weeks away. We did get our pre-start folder, so now comes the fun! Look forward to sharing our building journey with you all as we build our dream home. Happy building! Are you getting it fitted out through homegroup or doing it yourself after handover? Slightly in awe of your master bedroom suite .... oh who am I kidding, I am immensely in awe! Re: Nic & Ger's new home build - Home Group WA -Honeywood Es 11Feb 01, 2014 3:35 pm nicitinic Hi Dee We will get the wardrobe fitted after handover. Just getting the shelf and rail for now. I'm in love with the WIR!!! We are also getting our WIR fitted after handover. We actually deleted the shelf and rail to save having to pay for something that is just going to be ripped out later. If you're planning on getting it fitted straight away I would definitely recommend deleting it to save you time and money Re: Nic & Ger's new home build - Home Group WA -Honeywood Es 12Feb 03, 2014 2:40 pm Congratulations your block. It is such a good size. The plan works really well with the shape of your block too. We will be building in Honeywood too. We secured a small 12.5m lot in Stage 5.2. now just waiting on the titles Look forward to seeing your house grow Dale Alcock Build in Honeywood Our Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70204&p=1154102#p1154102 Re: Nic & Ger's new home build - Home Group WA -Honeywood Es 14Feb 05, 2014 8:22 am nicitinic Hi Kelsey Welcome to Honeywood! Who are you building with? Where is stage 5.2? We are in stage 4. We are building with Dale Alcock, they designed us a plan we really loved to fit on such a small block. Stage 5 is just past Stage 4 on Honeywood Avenue. We have a road now so it's getting really exciting! Re: Nic & Ger's new home build - Home Group WA -Honeywood Es 15Feb 16, 2014 7:46 pm Wish I had of checked out HGWA! I didn't even go to their displays Looks like they have done a good job with the design. Also love the wardrobe - I second the deleting of shelf and rail if fitting out yourself. I think I got $500 back for mine. Big pool looks fab too! We noticed our documents say shower hob and bath hob use wall tiles, however, we are wanting to use the floor tiles for this. Wondering if others have tried to do this. Re: Nic & Ger's new home build - Home Group WA -Honeywood Es 18Feb 17, 2014 1:26 pm We did! The floor tile goes over the bath, I am hoping that the floor area will look bigger. We chose to do this at the tile shop Re: Nic & Ger's new home build - Home Group WA -Honeywood Es 19Feb 17, 2014 6:37 pm Hi guys, that is one awesome house design Re: Nic & Ger's new home build - Home Group WA -Honeywood Es 20Feb 18, 2014 1:31 am Posting to follow. And......WOW!!! What a design. I love the idea of having the Master open up like that onto the pool. We also have taken out the rail & shelf as fitting WIR after handover and we did get some money back. I can't remember what the price was as they quoted us on a fit out but sooo much cheaper to do oursleves. We're also doing the robes in beds 2 & 3 and we got a grand total of $156 back on taking the shelves & rail out of them. 4 14438 Can anyone recommend a good/affordable retaining wall and fence builder that I can get a quote from located in Sydney? 8 45705 |
