Our Smart Homes Build Paradiso Estate Baldivis

Hi everyone we are building our second home with Smart Homes in Paradiso Estate Baldivis. We have secured a 460sqm block and are just waiting on finance and building contracts. We are building The Success Max but have made a few changes to get everything how we want it

Is anyone else building in Paradiso Estate?

I would really love to upload our design with the changes we have made but I'm not sure how lol. Can anyone help?

Congrats on your second build, Do you have any info on how your first build went and why you've chosen to give it another go?
How long ago did you last build?

Looking forward to seeing your floorplans and build develop.

If you open up a photobucket account and then once you've uploaded the photos you want to the account simply copy the IMG pathway (there are 4 to select from) on the right hand side of the page with the photo you like and paste it onto your post.

It's quite simple when you've done it once.

I said I'd never build again but here's we are 6 months later :p I was a little hesitant to go with Smart Homes as they fall under Ventura who Aussie Living belong to but they offered us the best value for money and allowed us to make all the changes we wanted too

After showing the plans to my parents Mum made the suggestion of removing the robe from bedroom 2 and making it a door so that when we have babies we don't need to walk through the kitchen and down the hallway. I'm not sure about not having a robe in the bedroom though, what are people's thoughts?

I can deinitely see your Mum's reasoning - a long walk from the master to Bed 2.
If you wanted to go this way and remove the robe, you could perhaps relocate the robe to behind the scullery and have a sliding door on your robe so as not to eat into the bedroom space when you open the door of the robe. I am quite a big fan of sliding doors on robes - gives greater room space and you dont have to worry about the door hitting any closely placed furniture

I think it's something we will ask about at prestart. We already want to change the robe doors to mirrored sliding doors

I'm thinking of having the door in line to were the door for the robe is

I have friends who have just built with Aussie Living and had a nightmare aswell. The state of their house at PCI was disgusting. Hope this build goes better for you.

I think all rooms need robes. Maybe you could have a long deep robe where the bedroom door currently is? Different but it could work.

I think all rooms need robes. Maybe you could have a long deep robe where the bedroom door currently is? Different but it could work.

Would it be annoying for whoever is in that room to have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom or toilet? We are thinking this will be a guest room or study once it isn't a nursery so maybe we could get away with not having a robe?

Prestart is in 3 weeks and I feel like we (mainly I haha :p) have a really long list. Has anyone got any suggestions? I would love to hear your ideas

* down lights - we have a sparky friend who can install these so just need the builder to cut the holes
* upgrade carpets and underlay
* full height tiling in ensuite toilet and bathroom. Ensuite is already in the contract.
* tiles in hallway and activity room instead of carpet
* upgrade doors to alfresco
* change cupboard draws in ensuite
* glass splashback in kitchen
* hide washing machine taps in laundry bench
* waterfall edges to Island bench - so scared about how much this is going to cost!
* upgrade bath
* mitred tiles
* bin draws in scullery
* dirty clothes hamper draws in laundry
* WIR fit out - will probably get this done after handover but will get a price anyway
* semi frameless shower screens
* stone tops in bathroom, ensuite and laundry
* NIB walls in showers
* add rainfall shower head to ensuite
* upgrade shower heads
* recessed ceiling in theatre
* reduce shelf space in linen closet to create broom space
* floor to ceiling linen closet
* doors to theatre - am thinking we will do this ourselves
* pot draws in kitchen and overhead cupboards
* mirrored sliding doors in bedrooms
* bulkhead in main bedroom and kitchen
* gloss laminate - is this normally an upgrade?
* roman blinds - again am thinking this will be cheaper to do after handover but thought we may aswell get a price
* wood paneling to alfresco ceiling
* full length mirror in WIR
* replace robe in bedroom 2 with door
* stone cladding to blade wall

I am also currently building in paradiso estate! Can't wait till titles are finally issued, I brought the first block in the estate 546sqm in stage 1! My dads cousin is actually the sales rep for the estate

I am building through home group wa! Will upload my plans when I sign up to photobucket

We are building a big house, only 2.9m back yard and roughly 2m on each side. Home group have great upgrades already included!

Aw awesome! When will your titles be issued? Robyn is awesome

seriously thinking about looking at Home Group but they have some bad reviews, how have you found them so far?

I have found them great so far, we aren't renting so I guess we aren't in a hurry so no dramas for us would rather it be done properly then rushed.
Titles were meant to be June 2014! Went and seen her on the weekend and she said we are looking early march as they are still awaiting Rockingham council! Will you be at the wine and cheese afternoon next Saturday?

Yeah much better to wait and have it finished properly then rush and not be happy.
Fingers crossed titles will be issued soon

they are doing work on our stage so I'm hoping that's a good sign. I didn't know anything was happening next Saturday. Robyn did mention she would be organising one when we signed up but I haven't heard anything ::sad::
