Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 18, 2014 12:00 pm Hi there. We had PCI last week, there is quite a chip/guage out of our essa stone top - not on the edge it's quite central. SS said it would be repaired, anyone had it repaired and is it ok? Not sure if I should be demanding a whole new bench? Also how picky should we get about things like internal door paint finishing - many have rough areas, one big hair stuck in paint etc - should they be absolutely perfect or is this considered unreasonable? Also found our front door was wrong - no pattern on internal side when supposed to be one plus door looks old like it's been reused! Lock area very rough and markings of a ring around our handle where a bigger fitting once was. So definitely getting that sorted. Also found an air on vent put in wrong spot - we queried with installers why and they said structural beam in way - my husband is air on tech so went into roof space and no such problem!! So getting that re-done. Re: Essa stone repair. internal door finishes? Other PCI thi 2Aug 19, 2014 3:30 pm I would get the hair removed and paint redone on that area. For me its a gross factor having some strangers hair stuck on my door.... Regarding the essastone bench top. We also had a nice big gouge in our bench right in the middle. SS told me that they regrind the stone to powder and add some kind of gluing agent to reseal it all together. I could hardly see it when it was redone so was happy with how they fixed it.
