Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our build with Stylemaster homes 21Jan 24, 2015 8:44 am How did you go with the cabinet holes for the washing machine? Re: Our build with Stylemaster homes 22Jan 24, 2015 4:49 pm I keep meaning to come in here and update this but the Internet reception is so crap at home and we only just got our home Internet connected!!! So I ended up texting the SS, basically they don't put the holes in, something to do with different set ups for different machines so u have to do it urself. Kind of annoying as hole saws aren't cheap but luckily a friend had one we could borrow. I'm loving the new place though only had a few issues, it's so nice to be in our own place. We found they put in the wrong shower heads when we had our first shower lol the one we picked was a 5 function one and the one we got has 1 function haha. They are coming out to replace them next week though. The chrome on our kitchen tap has come off too so they r going to replace that too. No photos, will have to take some when I'm home (up sunshine coast atm) and when the place isn't such a mess haha. We are still living with mud (and mud pools atm with all this rain) as we need retaining on the boundary out the back and our neighbour is ignoring all our communications we r currently trying to sort it through the builder now. (The house only just had piping done so way behind ours) The only thing I am annoyed about is the gap for our fridge. It's only 908 mm which I'm finding is a standard double fridge size but down the bottom there is skirting which reduces the size so none of the fridges we want to get will fit. We could take the skirting off but It's still only 908 wide I don't even know if a 908 fridge will fit coz it won't have room to push in? It's also only like 600 deep!! I wish we had thought of that when we were doing the planning, I would have made it wider at least. Will put pics tomoro Our first home: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72839 Re: Our build with Stylemaster homes 23Jan 29, 2015 9:22 am Sounds like we might be sawing our own cabinet holes too then!! I don't know how they could manage to install the wrong shower head, haha... I hope the chrome on the kitchen tap was a one-off issue and not just a crappy fitting that it will happen again? I just checked our fridge space specs, and our width should be ok at 1000, but our depth is only 600 as well, so I think we are going to have issues too! You would think they would have picked up on this by now and made the space bigger in their designs?? I guess the doors need to stick out a bit to be able to open properly, but most decent fridges seem to be around 740 deep! Anyway, I look forward to seeing your finished pics!! Re: Our build with Stylemaster homes 24Feb 10, 2015 2:08 pm Hi there, Just wanted to know how your build process went with Stylemaster. We are also building in Springfield Lakes at the Sanctuary and we are looking at the Look Range. Was there a lot of hidden costs etc. Thanks. P.s your house looks fab. Re: Our build with Stylemaster homes 25Jul 26, 2015 1:00 am Hi there, We are strongly considering the Stylemaster Claremont 24 and am hoping to see an update on your build and more pics if you happen to come back to this thread! Also some info on upgrades & extra costings would be great! Thanks! Re: Our build with Stylemaster homes 26Jul 28, 2015 9:40 pm Hi, Our build finished in Dec last year. Overall we were pretty happy with stylemaster, although their service after handover needs major improvement. Stupidly- i didnt actually get any photos of the house completed but empty, we were too excited to move in and i didnt think of it until after there were boxes everywhere haha! Can take some photos of the house with furniture in it though if you like? Upgrades- we did the Luxe package, i couldnt tell you what the difference was between that and the look though as we decided to go with the luxe upfront. My contract is here somewhere though I can find it and let you know what it says as i know its on there. What other upgrades & extra costings were you after? Our first home: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72839 Re: Our build with Stylemaster homes 27Jul 29, 2015 12:06 pm Hi, Thanks so much for replying and I'm glad you're happy with your build overall... Any pics you can take even with furniture would be great! Would also love to see how your facade/colours turned out! Our land wont be ready till next year, but we've rounded down our choice of builders to 2 or 3 now, but Stylemaster is in the lead as we love the Claremont 24 floorplan the most... I've gone through their inclusion list quite thoroughly and we have a good idea of what we want to change/upgrade... Any help with rough prices on any of these would really help! We've been told that Claremont 24 in Luxe base price is currently $180k or in The Look 225 $169k ... Must-Have Upgrades we are considering include:
2700mm Ceiling Height 2.3m high Corinthian Motive 2V or Motive 3D Interior Doors Double Cavity Sliding door to media room LED Downlights throughout Ducted Air Con or 2x Reverse Cycle Air-Con (Master&Living) Render to Front of Facade Termite Treatment to Framing Insulation to whole ceiling & External walls Sound insulation to Media Room Electrical Plan Additions TBA Kitchen 900mm Free Standing Gas Cooktop/Oven 900mm Rangehood (DUCTED) Fridge Plumbing Outlet 20mm Caesarstone Island Bench with Waterfall edge and 300-400mm overhang Glass splashback inc. behind rangehood Sink Mixer Tap w/ Pull out function Upgrade sink to double full size tub w/drainer (top-mounted) Bathrooms Double Vanity in Ensuite Rainfall shower head Caesarstone bench tops in bathrooms Recess in both showers (smallest available) Flooring Carpet to Bedrooms and Media rooms 600x300 Matte Light Grey (as in North Lakes display home) or 600x600 Glossy White Porcelain tiles to main areas Possible Upgrades depending on price:
Tiling all the way to ceiling in both bathrooms Double Glazed Windows Gas Connection to Alfresco Extra Cupboards above laundry Thats the list so far and slowly growing... Hoping to have all these as part of initial contract rather than make changes after... Hope you can help with prices on any... Also, we're considering changing the floor plan a bit, including seeing if we can move the laundry from the back to in between the Master Bedroom and Kitchen, then moving the toilet away from the middle of the house to the side where the laundry used to be... Here's a draft I did (Original on Left, Modified on Right): http://imgur.com/ULhttfV ... I'm hoping theres a chance Stylemaster can do this! Anyway, looking forward to seeing some pictures! Cheers Re: Our build with Stylemaster homes 28Sep 16, 2015 9:15 pm Hi, Im so sorry i only just found a email notification you had written this. Are you still after some pics?
