DON'T PAY! I'm not kidding. We tried tribunals, MBA intervention, independent advisors, solicitor, the lot. The builder (southern highlands/Canberra - PM me for more info offline) just wouldn't do what they legally had to. It ended up that we paid all these people more than a legal case would have cost (about $20-30,000) which would have forced the builder to do their job if we'd gone down that path at the start. Just as one example, this builder put in writing that he would be happy to declare bankruptcy and we would be out of pocket, purposely to make us suffer more. Imagine what that would have looked like in court? That is a very sad story, the professionals you hired to help you instead got their snouts in your wallet and no result. Shame on them.
