We have bought a 580m2 home in Lane Cove Council area and it currently has 65% hard surfaces on the block (alot of concrete).
We want to renovate it by extending the living space, building a pool, deck and double lock up garage onsite and the hard surfaces will reduce significantly to 50% because we will lay more grass. However, it will not reduce to only 35% hard surfaces to comply with CDC rules (stormwater related for our property).
The house needs renovating. Are we likely to get an allowance above 35% from Council given the current ratio is being reduced through our renovations or will they require us to reduce right down to only 35% hard surfaces?
We've have a meeting with the stormwater specialist at Council next week.
Many thanks for any suggestions/experiences.
