Browse Forums Building A New House Re: celebration homes lennox dalyellup 21Sep 22, 2014 8:14 am Hi Nessy-Lou, I'm sorry your kids have been unwell! We were meant to be doing prestart today and tomorrow but our building contracts aren't back and are now due next week so I'm not sure when we'll do it? I've been thinking about doing the same glass cabinets as you from ikea after hand over! And I'm thinking the white cupboards but unsure about splashback yet? I think we're going to get our tikes from Trimview? Avanti was great but trimview had more the range that I was looking for? I'm still undecided on benchtop? We have added heaps of bench space and we lost our caesarstone promotion because of it. The quite of our caesarstone is $9500 but if we use laminex, it's included and we don't pay any extra? I'm just not sure that the extra money is in the budget? It's something I'm thinking about???? Have you thought about upgrading wardrobes? I'm going to take my husband to bunnings today and check out wardrobe inserts and see if he can put some good shelving in afterwards as the wardrobes just seem a but plain to me? I guess they're basic? Ooooohhhh, there's so much to think about and decide for upgrades - where to spend money and where to save it! Down lights, we are going to put these in after wards and I want dimmers on all of mine too which would cost a lot with celebration homes. We're in Bunbury today so I'm spending the day at the Celebration homes showroom, Reece (I'm hoping to upgrade my kitchen sink and taps), tile shop and I also want to visit the door shop as we're moving to a country area (just outside of Bunbury) and I want to have old fashioned country garden and so I want to put doors that will look modern from the inside but old fashioned from the outside - I have no idea if that will even work???? I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I'm having the baby in Perth and don't want to drive down again until after the baby is born so I have no idea when we'll do prestart? We love quite far north at the moment and we were going to do contracts and prestart all on the same day? Our rep is now going to meet us in Perth to sign the contracts but I will still have to drive down for prestart? I hope this baby comes soon so I can start planning my life again, lol! That's great about your uncle too! My husband is planning on painting our house - I hope it's going to look great? I'm going to do one wall of each of my kids room in wallpaper (I have my kids rooms completed planned out, lol) but I'm not sure about colours of the rest of the house yet? We have an antique white colour in our current home and I like but after 5 years I want something different? Who knows I might go with the same colour again? I hope your kids get better and you can book prestart again soon! My hubby is FIFO so doing it all myself. Which tile shop did you visit? I ended up picking my tiles at the tile shop as I didn't just want to pick from one tile board in the selection Centre. I really don't know what to do about carpet, I'm not keen at all about the carpet provided in the builders range if feels like sand paper lol I visited the carpet shop yesterday and the cheapest carpet that feels soft and nice is around $10 per meter more expensive than the builder standard carpet. with the amount of carpet in the lennox its going to be quite expensive. this is some of the carpet colours I was looking at Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Wow 36 weeks, not long now! You must be so excited. I don't blame you not wanting to do the big drive back and forth. Did you have any luck with taps, sink & doors? https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72792&start=0 Re: celebration homes lennox dalyellup 25Sep 27, 2014 3:15 pm these are the wall cabinets I'm thinking I will put in after the build they are from ikea. clear glass for kitchen, frosted for laundry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72792&start=0 Re: celebration homes lennox dalyellup 26Oct 05, 2014 8:16 pm Hi Nessy-Lou, Sorry I've been MIA - life has been crazy busy!!! I know what you mean, I've been doing everything by myself too. We actually live about 2000 kms north of Perth and I've had to fly down by myself to do everything. We were meant to be doing contracts and pre-start on the same day but the contracts were delayed because the soil testing had a problem and needed to be retested? Then they were meant to be done by this Wednesday but now they look like they won't be done until Thursday and I think Celebrations are going to courier them up??? It's kind of worked out well in a way as I couldn't find any pavers I liked but Celebrations have just got a new range of pavers in which I love, yay! Your design looks awesome! Love how you've added the extra bedroom and toilet! I really wanted an extra toilet but I maxed out my structural changes on space so something had to give? Great idea though The cabinets above that you posted are what we might put into our kitchen and laundry too, not sure yet? Some friends ordered direct from laminex and gave them all the measurements of the cupboards they wanted and laminex made them to order? We will probably do that or the ikea one? For carpets did you see this one - 100% solution dyed polyester cut pile twist? It was a standard range for the contempo series but they said most people only get it for the master bedroom as it's so plush? I'm getting it put in all out carpet areas. I only looked quickly but I thougt it was really nice and it looks the same as the one in he photo you posted? I can't work out how to post a photo from my iPhone otherwise I would post a photo for you? I thought it felt pretty soft? Absolutely LOVE your splashback by the way!!! I was going for a similar silvery glass one but I've now decided to go for a white mini hexagon tile? I hope everything looks great? It's so hard trying to choose everything? I can't wait to see how your build goes. Not long now and you'll have your slab laid, yay Re: celebration homes lennox dalyellup 27Oct 05, 2014 8:22 pm Just saw your question about taps, sinks and doors? I've chosen another tap and sink from Reece but not sure about doors yet? I'm waiting to get my siteworks quote back this week and then I'll know how much money we have left to spend It's driving me crazy not knowing I LOVE my tap and sink though Re: celebration homes lennox dalyellup 29Oct 17, 2014 11:33 pm LOVE LOVE LOVE your splashback choice. So much bling! i would have loved that but no way my other half would have agreed. Its all looking good. Hey Nessy-Lou I stumbled across your thread because once we are in our current build we have decided to build the lennox. We want to make the games room into a 5th bedroom and an activity room as well and pretty much very similar changes to you. I can't wait to see a final copy of your plans. And the canvas painting looks great - you seem like a pro with your selections, I might get you to do the selections for me next time I build Re: celebration homes lennox dalyellup 33Oct 23, 2014 11:53 am hi mrsparker The drawings look great so far, really happy with all the structural changes. prestart is finally booked for 5 nov, very very excited. Will be defiantly sharing final drawings, I'll also list all the changes I made, it will be a long list lol Aww thanks becksyfreemo!
