Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 11, 2014 2:42 pm Hi everyone, I'm a first home buyer/builder and am building with Home Group WA in Maida Vale WA. Our engineers report has come back as C2 and the builder originally quoted us based on the worst case scenario for that area, a C4. Now that it's come back as a C2 I was told that our engineering costs will be half but have just discovered that we only get $2,000 back when the engineering costs quoted originally were over 10k. I'm a bit annoyed as its taken bloody ages to get these docs and we were so excited to hear that we would get over half back from the engineering costs...only to get the measley 2k instead. We knew that the block wouldn't have been a C4 as we paid extra for the land because the owner of the land had prepped the land (put in storm water drains etc) and had advised that for the area it was very good soil and the land is nice and flat too. I need to go through all of these vague descriptions on the contract for site works and make sure I'm not being charged extra for things that shouldnt be charged. Our land isn't in an estate...it belonged to the couple behind who have paid a fair amount to get the land ready to build on hence why it was a little more expensive. Does anyone know much about class C2 site works costs...cause I know nothing about it Any help would be greatly appreciated I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 8258 Fair Trading can issue orders to rectify and complete but once the matter goes to NCAT these orders are automatically vacated. You will have to terminate contract and sue… 21 25316 I don’t think so as the floor area over 300 square meters then it is class 3…. 12 15876 |
