Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 10, 2014 4:00 pm I pretty much know what I need (bedroom with ensuite on the ground floor) and am usually able customise project home to achieve this. I like to know what experiences people have had with project builders vs local builders. Thanks in advance. Re: Who is building in Sydney Eastern Suburbs 2Aug 10, 2014 4:41 pm We did a fairly major reno in the inner west in about 2007. Perhaps a bit different from a kdr but we found it more expensive than we thought and because of access etc it also took a lot longer than planned. We were really happy with the end result and known the builder for over 20years but even so it was a tough and expensive experience. I never did a final tally but over $2k per sqm is very easy to spend with a local builder who will build whatever you like. We are now building a great new home in Camden with all the bells and whistles through a project builder at around half the cost per sqm. There are some limitations and upgrades are basically what you'd pay with a smaller builder but the whole process just seems a lot clearer and straight forward. I think it all depends on the builder rather than type of builder you choose but having a process that most volume builders have just makes it all the clearer and less stressful as far as I'm concerned. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me 10 15757 Thanks for your reply! We're definitely not after a small house Might still have a chat to them. Who did you end up building with if you don't mind me asking? 2 2626 No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 6164 |
