Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 09, 2014 8:31 pm Finally, made it to the start of the journey. As the saying is "All great journeys begin with one single step..." . Our HOME CONSTRUCTION PROCESS has begun with sign off on a piece of paper and handing it over to Provincial sales person. Finger crossed, touch wood the sailing should be smooth.... So now we don't have to do any thing, just wait for next 4 weeks for the drawings and stage for CDC. Will be updating as I progress on this.... Re: Building with Provincial Homes - new thread 2Aug 19, 2014 11:07 pm The waiting count down has started. The plans are being drawn and I have been told that contour survey has been ordered. So I guess, I will have to wait for the mail with plan drawn and colour selection appointment.... Re: Building with Provincial Homes - new thread 3Aug 20, 2014 12:33 am Welcome to H1 ProgD! I wish you all the very best with your build. Re: Building with Provincial Homes - new thread 4Aug 20, 2014 8:52 am Good luck - its a stressful process - but can be exciting too. Try to be part of it - without being a nuisance ... Keep records and photos - in order and a date record. Keep all of your emails and especially details of any conversations with builders etc. Maybe send confirming emails to people paraphrasing what is agreed if its been verbal. Nothing succeeds like written evidence - if needed. BUT - it should go well - so be optimistic ! Re: Building with Provincial Homes - new thread 5Aug 24, 2014 10:10 pm So the fun game of selections has started.... We have received our first pack of things and quite frankly it was bit over whelming to go through so many brochures, notes, etc. etc. Speaking to my sales consultant at Provincial, it helped us in making the things clearer and I have started on the external selections... Hopefully by next week I should be able to select most of the outdoor items.... Will update here with my selections once they are finalized. Till then happy reading........ Re: Building with Provincial Homes - new thread 6Sep 08, 2014 10:55 pm Received the preliminary design of the house diagrams along with contour survey last week. Going thru the diagrams, it looks pretty awesome as the house shape has come up. We also received the initial selection pack from Provincial and almost selected every thing in external. Just one thing to check with people in the forum: selecting morroco baggage paint and finish to the front of the house. Does any one done that and if so, would pl upload some pictures of that. The next step is to sign the building contract. Speaking to my SC, their isn't any change(s) in the tender cost. But not sure as that is something that is making me too paranoid about the final cost of the tender. I have been reminded of the internal selection and cost associated with items in kithcen, electricals, etc. What has been the experiences on cost increase after the building contract signing ? Any ideas and feedback ? My block has a slope of 1.7 meters so it has to go to council instead of CDC (due to 500 mm cut/fill restrictions in Kellyville area). As the house next to my land has done the same, it should not be too much hassles in the council. So much to read and figure out. Will be updating soon with more details of our processes. And yes, I have to create my blog too.... The Dulux colour consultants are awesome. If you show them the photos they should be able to figure it out for you straight away 1 1603 Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle.
