Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 22Sep 09, 2014 2:07 pm Hi Btam. Did you have to wait for the road to go in before you could proceed with your soil test?? I'm interested to know as i have purchased some land in Littlehampton in the Adelaide Hills and Statesman have told me a few times that we can't go ahead with soil testing untill the road is in, cos they need the exact road height. It's very annoying as the build process has been sitting idle for months now as the earthworks are running a long way behind schedule. Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 23Sep 09, 2014 2:13 pm Hi Ocker, With both my builds (first one Hickinbotham) and this one with Simonds we had to wait for the roads to be in for the heights and fall to be correct. Some will do the pre lim soil test, but won't be able to do the full engineering report until the roads/kerbs are in. Mostly they just do it all in the one go though We are renting in LH whilst our build in Mt Barker finishes up, absolutely beautiful town Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 24Sep 10, 2014 12:00 am ocker23 Hi Btam. Hi ocker23, Statesman did a soil test and survey a couple of months ago before the roads were in based on predicted levels so they could submit the application to council, there will be a second survey and soil test done once the roads are done. Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 25Sep 10, 2014 8:40 am Hmmm interesting.... I might give them another call this afternoon and inquire as to why we can't do something similar. The subdivision was originally supposed to be finished 12 months ago so as you could imagine it's becoming extremely frustrating! Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 26Sep 14, 2014 7:34 pm Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 27Sep 15, 2014 12:57 pm Just received an email from statesman stating that the land is due for completion on the 19th with the final survey undertaken the following week and titles and council approvals completed mid october. Finally getting somewhere Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 29Sep 29, 2014 4:35 pm Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 30Sep 29, 2014 4:44 pm Very nice. A lovely blank canvas Shouldn't be long now... how exciting for you! I'm pretty sure my block is around the loop a bit, where the big concrete sections of pipe are. I thought it kinda funny that around the area where there is a black and white signpost indicating the end of a road someone has made their own sign that says 'Welcome to the Nuriootpa Dust Bowl'. Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 32Oct 06, 2014 5:09 pm Estate fencing is now in, still no word from construction services though. So tired of waiting. Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 34Oct 09, 2014 4:41 pm Hang in there--it will happen. On Monday (yes the public holiday) Construction Services was working on preparing a block in our street. Today the plastic and mesh is in place. Wouldn't surprise me if the slab is poured tomorrow. That's how it went with our build--almost never a day without action, but of course only after they actually start. It's not council holding things up is it? Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 35Dec 08, 2014 5:25 pm Finally an update. House has been released to construction today, I am hoping that the slab will be down before they close over Christmas but not going to hold my breath. Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 36Dec 08, 2014 9:32 pm Fantastic! I hope so btam. They may do it. Would be good to do it before any chance of a heat wave Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 37Dec 09, 2014 1:57 pm Good news btam. Nice Christmas present, even if the slab doesn't get poured. Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 38Dec 18, 2014 12:08 am Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 39Dec 18, 2014 1:36 am Also found out today that the builder will be covering the cost of fencing on the south side of my block due to a restructure in the estate. Good news all around Re: Statesman build Barossa Estate 40Dec 18, 2014 12:34 pm That's a good bonus. Congratulations on the port-a-loo. Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17199 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10261 |
