It looks like mould on the bricks, the same as on limestone bricks.
Hopefully they fix the rust for you.

Very close guys, we can smell it...kind of excruciating waiting for the day to come...lol...

Feelings of us as first time builders I guess....one thing though, it's great to see the house form physically from just being a drawing on paper

Thanks Petad, that reasoning did cross our minds.

However, we still want to find out the cause of the few bricks being damp and if it is a roof issue, that it be fixed.

We also do not want mould forming in the interior part of that wall area as it is the enclosed bulkhead where the aircond vent is located.

I would be a bit concerned to as the mould usually forms because of excess damp. It seems odd that just a small patch of bricks were very wet that time. I'm sure if there is any problem the builder will fix it.

Thanks Petad, that's exactly what we are wanting to ascertain...that only a small patch of bricks were clearly wet/damp...we are confident that the issue will be addressed.

Not sure what to expect, but I'm sure that we will be guided through it.

We have made some notes and also purchased and gone thru the PCI guide by Brian Ashworth as a reference....Hoping for a smooth transition to handover.

The build so far has been smooth and enjoyable.

In other news, we are very close to confirming the landscaper....will provide more information on this at a later stage.

Good luck today Hootie! Just point out whatever you feel is not right regardless of how big or small it is. From there the SS will make comment. But if you don't raise it, you won't get an answer either way!

Usually the SS is thorough, they do have a perfect product to deliver after all as their job. But they will sometimes miss things so don't be afraid to speak up and ask if you see something you don't think is right! You're the client, its your house

Hey everyone, thanks for the wishes and the tips for PCI.

We brought the light globes and even a hair dryer to plug in and test the power points ::wink::

Well...PCI complete! Have a short list of minor issues to be fixed and we should be ok for handover, which is currently scheduled for Monday 12 Oct!

Petad - You were right, the thing on the bricks in my earlier photos is efflorescence (but I did some research and because the stain is green it could be vanadium staining) , similar to what one would get with the limestone bricks. The dampness on the bricks will have to be monitored, and we are ok with that.

Will take pics after handover. ::smile::

Things to do after handover:

1) Flooring - Vinyl Planks
2) Wardrobes fitout
3) Fencing installation
4) Landscaping
5) Install self supplied lights
6) Move in
7) Delivery of purchased items - white goods, Tvs, furniture etc
