Thanks everyone, we are in love with the sink in the powder room

While meeting with the SS, we took a quick peek at some of the other room and discovered that there was more internal work already done! Of course being locked out we couldn't see the interior until today. I need to update my list soon!

Firstly as promised, this is the stone benchtop - Essastone Piazza. My wife took this pic because there is join in the middle here but barely noticeable, so she is absolutely pleased with the workmanship:

Then we noticed that the mirrors and shower screens were installed! This is the common bathroom:

On the way back from work I decided to swing past the house and found the driveway prepped for paving...which should happen next week (?). Can't wait to see how it all looked paved!:

Regarding the landscaping, does it need to be done all at once or can you get the 'structure' done and add plants as you go?

Very please at how ours turned out, less the top hung cabinets above the tap. We will be placing shelves in the area above the tap.

For our landscaping, we did go through various scenarios, including doing it in stages. However, because we do not qualify for the front landscaping voucher from the developer, and because we want to minimise trades coming in and out of the property after we move in, we've decided to do the whole lot at once.

To that end, our landscaping will be fairly simple...no extensive retaining walls or brick planter boxes out front...using our own plants (dragon trees and succulents)....combination of pea gravel and mulch in the front, artificial lawn in the alfresco side and paving down the other sides of the house. The only "extra" we hope to include is a sunken fire pit next to the alfresco in front of the master bedroom verandah.

We found the join in the stone to be well done, so the wife is happy It's funny that you mentioned the measurements because my wife also made sure that joins were minimised as much as possible. When we got to know that a join was needed, we requested it to be at the tap area so that it is not noticeable.

Hey, looks like builder bunny has a fan base.. yes, he is temporarily perched on the bullbar of the 4WD, ready for his bath one day lol...

I can understand what you mean Dream_Catchers...we went through many iterations of possible landscaping until we sort of got to where we are at now.

Even then, we have to keep our wish list fluid because we want to keep to the our budget....so will be considering different materials for the hardscaping based on cost/value for money...

We found a photo of a sunken firepit that would be similar to the one in our vision but ours will be much simpler in design in order to keep cost down:

As our block is elevated, we plan to sink the firepit are so that it is equal to street level....not sure what would be recommended to be used as a retaining wall yet...then have wooden bench seats with cushions around the firepit, which will be the removable type so that the space can be multi-use.

Hootie your place is looking amazing! I have not checked in in some time so there is a lot to take in - all of which looks fantastic. Loving the firepit area - we are currently gettings ours paved although ours is raised instead of sunken. Bring on the toasted marshmallows!!

I do love Pintrest but can't seem to find much on practical small yards, only gorgeous ideas you can only apply to yards bigger than our 3m..
Then again i haven't had much time to be online at all with hubby's new business...

I'm sure we'll eventually figure something out
