Of course being locked out we couldn't see the interior until today. I need to update my list soon! Firstly as promised, this is the stone benchtop - Essastone Piazza. My wife took this pic because there is join in the middle here but barely noticeable, so she is absolutely pleased with the workmanship: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Then we noticed that the mirrors and shower screens were installed! This is the common bathroom: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The Ensuite, with the nib wall and shower glass that we asked for: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is our laundry area with the mirrored cupboard doors. Looks awesome and the mirrors brighten up the area: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ On the way back from work I decided to swing past the house and found the driveway prepped for paving...which should happen next week (?). Love the shower screen and the tiling in your bathrooms are lovely. Can't be long now ![]() Regarding the landscaping, does it need to be done all at once or can you get the 'structure' done and add plants as you go? Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - THE SINK & more! 728Sep 05, 2015 11:12 pm HI Hootie how great is everything looking ![]() I especially like the join in the stone, I'm really funny about that too I'd pick at it (I was in all the display homes) that's why I changed the island to 3 meters but our back bench is just under 6mtr so I hope it's done as good as yours. Can't be long now ![]() Regarding the landscaping, does it need to be done all at once or can you get the 'structure' done and add plants as you go? Thanks MalSannie for the kind words ![]() For our landscaping, we did go through various scenarios, including doing it in stages. However, because we do not qualify for the front landscaping voucher from the developer, and because we want to minimise trades coming in and out of the property after we move in, we've decided to do the whole lot at once. To that end, our landscaping will be fairly simple...no extensive retaining walls or brick planter boxes out front...using our own plants (dragon trees and succulents)....combination of pea gravel and mulch in the front, artificial lawn in the alfresco side and paving down the other sides of the house. The only "extra" we hope to include is a sunken fire pit next to the alfresco in front of the master bedroom verandah. ![]() ![]() HI Hootie how great is everything looking ![]() I especially like the join in the stone, I'm really funny about that too I'd pick at it (I was in all the display homes) that's why I changed the island to 3 meters but our back bench is just under 6mtr so I hope it's done as good as yours. I'm super stumped with what we're going to do.. I can understand what you mean Dream_Catchers...we went through many iterations of possible landscaping until we sort of got to where we are at now. Even then, we have to keep our wish list fluid because we want to keep to the our budget....so will be considering different materials for the hardscaping based on cost/value for money... We found a photo of a sunken firepit that would be similar to the one in our vision but ours will be much simpler in design in order to keep cost down: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ As our block is elevated, we plan to sink the firepit are so that it is equal to street level....not sure what would be recommended to be used as a retaining wall yet...then have wooden bench seats with cushions around the firepit, which will be the removable type so that the space can be multi-use. We only have 3m to the back fence but about 2m on one side and hubby wants to create a mini bbq area, i want something simple but with palms, resort style and a water feature, and our 2 furbabies want a bit of grass. My 15mo would be quite happy to keep the giant sandpit! I have not checked in in some time so there is a lot to take in - all of which looks fantastic. Loving the firepit area - we are currently gettings ours paved although ours is raised instead of sunken. Bring on the toasted marshmallows!! Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - THE SINK & more! 734Sep 06, 2015 1:47 am That sounds cool Dream_Catchers, I'm sure you'll be able to plan the space so that it caters to everyone...maybe even a small sandpit for the 15mo! ![]() I would suggest looking at websites for inspiration such as Houzz, Pinterest, Dwell, House Nerd, Garden Designs etc etc. Happy browsing! ![]() Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - THE SINK & more! 735Sep 06, 2015 2:22 am Thanks Hootie ![]() I do love Pintrest but can't seem to find much on practical small yards, only gorgeous ideas you can only apply to yards bigger than our 3m.. I would have liked the mirrored sliding doors in the laundry but the answer I got was "who really wants to look at their bum" I mean really he only walks through the laundry, that's the extent of laundry duties for him; no vision.
