So much fun doing mood boards isn't it! You have lights in the garage! And stone benchtop, that must be so exciting! Bet you can't wait to pull the plastic off. Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - Stone benchtop, ligh 703Sep 02, 2015 11:59 pm ![]() No kidding on the landscaping cost!! Big blocks have perks, till you've got to make them look good! House looks great, some good progress! How cool is your kitchen ![]() Thanks archetto...my wife is absolutely thrilled at how the (read "her") kitchen turned out lol....the stone benchtop was an icing on the cake to see it delivered. She is waiting eagerly for the backsplash so that she can see how it all gels together. And....Landscaping! Yes, it's not easy....our block is not small, however we feel that we are not really asking for elaborate landscaping...normal pavers to the dead sides (same pavers as the driveway/porch), artificial turf to area outside dining and alfresco and front half with pea gravel and half with mulch, plants used will be supplied by us. The only bigger expense items are a sunken courtyard and floating steps leading to entrance....I guess all these add up, especially labour cost as we need retainers for the sunken courtyard. However it is important to us that we find a landscaper who is able to build us what we want. Anyway we might have to scale back on our wishlist...only time (and available money) will tell... ![]() ![]() Did you check out the awning? Thanks Jazza, I have not been to site yet myself but my wife had a relook and it looks like it's just caked sand from the beam being left there before it was installed. We are not too concerned about it as our SS is very efficient in taking care of any issues when he visits the site. ![]() Ha, love the "my chair" and "her chair"! I really wanted something similar. It was either going to be for wine or books, but I never got to deciding as we couldn't justify the upgrade cost. DH's argument was that the wine rack was pointless because I drink it too quickly for it ever to be full and he can put up shelves for books! BS12, I'm slowly accepting the fact that we will have to spend $$$ on landscaping...and because we want it done well the first time, there seems to be no option but to bite the bullet....now we just have to choose the best landscaper who we think could do the job... Today we had pavers delivered! Won't be long now before they are installed and we can't wait! To save cost, we are using the standard midland brick pavers for the driveway and the alfresco. No borders as well because we want to maintain that simple, basic midcentury look for those areas: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There was also more painting done and it appears that the windows have been cleaned! We met with the SS at the house today and he is aiming for Oct 1st as the PCI date!!! ![]() ![]() And here's a sneak peek of the standalone sink, which should be installed soon: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We are stoked at how it looks... ![]() ![]() Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - THE SINK 715Sep 04, 2015 1:29 pm How exciting about the PCI date Hootie!!!!
