It's nice to be "back"...

Yes...it's hard to stay away from the forums lol....in the time I've been away I feel that I've missed so much of others' builds ::lol::

On the bright side, I've been getting more sleep as I'm offline earlier hahaha...

Things are certainly moving along in our build! It's a busy time and it's good to see items on the list being chipped away at.

trixee - I think our garage grano is standard. We did not ask specifically for a smooth finish.

BS12 - I'm loving the garage too! That's my man cave as I won't have a shed due to space constraints, so that garage'll have to do lol...

So over the last couple of days we discovered:

My wife had a peek in the Theatre window this afternoon and found the room painted! The colour is Taubmans Beaver Creek and we were initially afraid that it would be too dark but it turned out very nice, so we are pleased! Apologies for the reflection, we could only take photos from outside:

My hubby lives in his shed that's why he has a "special spot" (dog house probably :lol:

)in the garage.
But he is 2 skinny sheds put together for out the back.

Hey hootie what colour is your brick mortar? Looks kinda yellow in those pictures. We have picked the same bricks as you but with a dark grey mortar.

Thanks jelbell55, we wanted a darkish colour in the theatre but not too dark and the Beaver Creek turned out well ::lol::

ColleyCrew - I think our mortar is cream colour. The photos have a bit of highlight done to them so they might seem more yellow than its meant to be ::wink::

Would love to see how yours turns out with the dark grey mortar...should be good ::smile::

I think it's just dirt that gathered on it before it was installed...the specs mentioned Duragal treated, so I'm assuming its galvanised.

If Duragal it shouldn't be rusting. Hot Dip Galvanised would be a better corrosion protection.

I would check it out a bit closer next visit. If rust, demand a replacement.

Hi Hootie. I've only just caught on to your thread. I do love a skillion roofline! And I see your builders are using versilux your outdoor ceilings too. Nice kitchen pendant choices. I suspect we are going for a similar look/style.

Thanks housebythewater! I've been reading your blog....wow, so much info and a magnificent design! And that landscaping is out of this world! Thanks for the tips ::lol::

So in between comparing quotes for landscaping, wardrobes and whatever else, I decided to take a break and create some more mood boards, seeing that we are "getting there"....some items are on the wish list, but we have decided on most of them except for a few...so here they are:

Mood boards are sweet, love the "some brand big TV"

Only suggestion is (depending on room dimensions) swap out the Ikea couch for some reclining theatre seats!

Thanks for the tip BS12! Yes reclining would be nice, we will have at think about it. We've had to reduce our potential furniture expenditure budget due to the cost of the landscaping quotes we have been getting... :::

As for the TVs, those might cop a budget cut too, hence maybe no Sony or Panasonics...but "some brand" lol... ::hyst::

Today my wife found that the stone benchtop was installed! It can't be seen too clearly from the photo as she took it from outside...but she is happy with how it looks from where she was. Sorry about the reflection from the glass lol...:

She also noticed that the wardrobe doors were installed in the bedrooms and also managed to peek into the ensuite and spotted the mirror up on the wall! No pics as there was too much reflection from the window glass.

And the garage lights have been installed! I am so pleased at how low profile they seem:
