Prestart went well today, we spent a fair few hours as we had quite a few upgrades that we wanted to be costed by the builder.

Firstly to clarify, prestart went smoothly with the prestart person being very patient and guiding us throughout the process. We thought we had one ducted ceiling vent missing from the plan and when we asked we were told that because we were having a raking ceiling in the theatre/main entrance area, it was not possible for aircond ducting to be installed in the theatre...as I said....uh-oh.  One of the options we have is to install a split unit system just for the theatre and run it independently from the ducted system in the rest of the house. Not a huge problem to us, but we were thinking that this could have been made clear to us earlier, as we might have then asked to modify the design so that maybe a bulkhead or wall outlet could be considered(?)  Because we want a clean look to the raking ceiling to the main entry and theatre, there is probably no other choice and there is an open courtyard behind the theatre, so there is no way to run the aircond duct from another part of the house to the theatre room... Thanks to several kind souls who replied to by post in the "Things you forgot" thread and via pms, we have gone back to the builder to get them to clarify this with the aircond installers (the ducted system is included as part of the build). Hopefully we will get some good news as we intend to spend quite a bit of time in the theatre room in the new home. Oh well.... Thanks xxkatxx, yes Bed 2 and 4 will have table/floor lamps as well as the pendants. The person at Beacon suggested that we mount them as high as possible, e.g. less hanging length and we will change the bulb to a brighter energy saving or LED bulb. They are extending the wall of the theater room and installing a bulkhead so that a slotted aircond duct can be added to the theater room...no additional expense on our side required. Reason? Street level must be viewable from inside the theater.... Developers couldn't even give an estimate required window height when asked...  Sigh... On the bright side, builder is working to find a solution...
