Will be interested to hear what the SS comes back with on the roof issues. Good on ya for spotting them too - not always easy with an untrained eye.

Thank you everyone  We are of the opinion that if we spot something, it is better to bring it to the SS attention sooner rather than later. Should the SS already know about these issues, then we will let him resolve it. That being said, there are minor stuff with the ceilings that we will bring to the SS attention, e.g. finishing, one area seems to be uneven etc...Got a call from the SS today, roof meeting booked form Monday arvo!!  He was on site when he called to explain some of the concerns we had put in the list and some of those items that we mentioned will be rectified. He will also give me more details about some of the other concerns on Monday. We couldn't be happier that his response to our concerns is so swift.Today the tradies finished the ceilings and we even had a site clean! Today at the roof meeting, the SS told us that he is aiming for 24th July as the lockup date! Can't believe how soon that will be. The plasterer will be working on the white set for the rest of the week, then windows and doors done then lockup.The roof meeting went really well today. Our concerns were addressed and the SS had already a list of items (including ours) which he will follow up on. It's really reassuring to know that he has already noted the items we had in our list before we met. In terms of the leaks that I posted photos of earlier, those will be fixed when the roofing people return to finish up a bit of left over work. I will miss going to the house the rest of this week because I'll be overseas on a conference (been going to site almost daily), however, I'm sure my wife will keep me updated. That's great news Thanks jlo1990, MalSannie and jelbell55...the news about an estimated lock up date was initially exciting to us, but in the last 3 days we have had no plasterer I was seriously hoping that while I am in NZ, the plastering work would start...tomorrow is already Friday, one week to lock up and apparently the plasterer needs 5 days to complete the task. I am assuming this means 5 working days and after that doors and windows installed before 24th July....at this point, I am not holding my breath that the 24th July date will be met.  sofia14Interesting. Not sure if it is standard. Hi Sofia14, we opted for gyprock for the garage, so that went up after the roof cover was done. We've been told that the fibro material are ok to get wet...but we didn't want ours soaked if it could be helped. That being said, we did look at those parts of the fibro evaves that have had some soaking and so far their condition seems to be ok. It's understandable that we as houseowners will be concerned about these things! In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 2696  That is a really good attitude Akin to you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
