The render looks great too glad that things are moving again for you Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - Front render/Roof co 462Jun 28, 2015 2:45 am ![]() Yay! Your roof looks great, not a bump in sight! Am loving the roof! So happy that it's mostly on. There are a few areas yet to be completed and the SS did tell us that a couple of flashings needed to be made up once they had the roof sheets on so that they could measure what was needed. So still waiting for those... ![]() Your house looks huge hootie, its also looking very stylish with that roof! You must be so pleased to be moving forward. ![]() Looks fantastic! They have done a great job! Looks like things are really moving forward now ![]() ![]() Looks great! ![]() The house looks fantastic Hootie, really modern feel to it. ![]() Hootie I love that action shot and wow the roof looks fantastic - very neat! The render looks great too glad that things are moving again for you Thanks all! We went to the house today and saw that they had put the metal edging on the corners of the wall ready for internal render! Can't wait till that happens. Had a chat with several neighbours and they all commented positively on the elevation, which is nice... ![]() So I was bored tonight plus I learnt how to create videos at work, so I dabbled in a bit of video editing of the shoot I did this morning of the house. Please excuse the jerky panning as I was working with just a normal tripod on a skateboard for some of the shots lol...includes music which I should give credit to - "Granados: Spanish Dance, Op.37, No.2 - "Oriental"" by Pepe Romero, Celin Romero Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - Front render/Roof co 463Jun 28, 2015 11:11 am Very cool video Hootie!! Amazing amazing amazing - great video! I just love your house and how it's all coming together! Hey Justin, no worries, I know you've been busy with your place ![]() Thanks for the compliments on the video, quality will improve once my equipment arrives lol...love ebay. In addition to going up the house to capture some video shots in the weekend, I'm glad we died because my wife's sharp eyes spotted issues with the roof cover that we would need to highlight to the SS if not solved prior: Let there be light? No we don't want light there, but it seems as if a flashing has not yet been installed in this area as the daylight is able to shine thru the sheeting. This is approximately between our ensuite and the walk in linen area: Slight "lifting" of the roof sheet at the point where the roof meets the garage pier. I swear I would not have seen this if not for the eagle eyes of the missus lol: This plus several areas where flashings need to be installed.... Overall the slab had somewhat of a clean and the excess roof timbers and timber wastes have all been removed! Jobs still outstanding for this week (which is listed in the fortnightly report) include finishing off the roof, brick clean, and hopefully some internal render (but internal render probably not till the roof is completed). Roof cover started on 16 June, so hopefully they are on to it and will return to finish the job soon...yes we have a different roof design but roof cover is taking a long time ![]() ![]() ![]() Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - Front render/Roof co 468Jun 30, 2015 4:14 am Love the video Hootie it isn't easy to do it well! My niece took some videos for us too so we can 'feel' how the rooms flow but it is very hard to do it professionally! I agree, MalSannie, it's hard to do a video well...I have ordered some "proper" equipment off ebay so hopefully those will help. I have still some time to practice until the house is complete, so that I can shoot it properly after handover ![]() Today the roofies returned! The completed the skillion section and also some other bits, but we have yet to inspect it properly as it got dark. Here's how the roof and skillion section looks today: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Another perspective: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ From the second photo it looks like the corner bit of the roof near the pier is still to be addressed, but we are pretty happy with today's outcome...can't see the wooden part of the skillion frame anymore, but the roof now looks more complete. ![]() ![]() And oh yes I received the progress payment request from the builder today...how quickly they get those sent out lol... ![]() ![]() Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - Front render/Roof co 470Jun 30, 2015 9:57 pm Oh that's looking really impressive now! Our guy couldn't even finish the hallway *grump* But good for you, romping along hey! ![]() Nah, we wish but not the whole house. We probably got about a third of the house done today. My wife spotted 3 plasterers working. I think there are still these rooms to be done - living, dining kitchen, theatre, study, main entry, laundry and scullery. Maybe even one more bedrooms as I just spotted red brick in the pic I posted earlier lol...
