How high are your ceilings! Wow!

I know, right? It's only in the Theatre and Entry though. We would loved to have the skillion roof go all the way to the length of the house but it would have been very costly... ::sad::

Update: Bricks Day 28 - 15 May 2015

Went to site today and what did I see??? ROOF TIMBERS DELIVERED!!

However, I noticed that the bricks are still probably not finished yet, so I'm guessing they might start the roofing from the back of the house and work towards the front.....

As you can see the brickwork to support the skillion roof in the Theatre is still being completed. I assume that the bricks would need to be laid following the thread line (if you look carefully you can see the brickie's line)...not sure when that will be done, but hopefully soon:

With the rains coming tomorrow, I am not holding out that there will be work done until the rain clears by Monday, then Tuesday is our "plate height" meeting.....

Update: Bricks Day 29 - 18 May 2015

The showers did not stop the brickes today and they powered on. Bricks were scheduled to be completed last week, so we assume that they are powering on in time to meet the plate height meeting deadline, which is tomorrow, Tues, 19 May. However, there is still the garage pier still to complete so we are assuming that it would be completed tomorrow.

The blade wall next to the Garage/Study appears to be full height now and it is looking impressive!:

Glad your bricks are almost done! Were they working with a small crew? It just seems like they've taken a lot of days with the brickwork. Hope the roof goes quick

We are very relieved to that bricks are almost finished. ::celeb::

Yes from what we could see it was only 1 team of 2 and sometimes 3 men. Apparently their brickies labourer went walkabout at times, so it was down to the 2 men. We had asked the SS if an additional team would be used and the answer was that they don't normally combine different teams of brickies to avoid inconsistencies...And also I guess our house is slightly larger that the average house (?) - that's perhaps one of the reasons I could think of and perhaps had slightly more detail.

The number of days I have been counting is only the days when the brickies actually worked, no weekend/public holidays counted in unless we spotted them working, then we would have included those days in the count. Also not counted were stop work due to bad weather days, and those few days (negligible really but still adds up) where they were pulled off to another job.

Brickworks officially started on 25 March (the first day brickies were onsite)...

Nearly there hootie! Ours took ages too due to the Easter break.

The water should just evaporate, they might try to sweep it out if they need the floor.

Yay for bricks almost finishing! I think the time taken would have something to do with the size of your house. when i was talking to my brickie they said they were quicker than usual on mine because the house was "smaller than what they usually work on". Apparently id be done by now if people didnt steal my doors :/ ahh well, hoping for the end of the week!

Update: Bricks Day 30 - 19 May 2015

On the bright side...the water pool in the bathrooms is gone and brickies have completed the garage pier! AND we've reached PLATE HEIGHT today!! ::lol::

The plate height meeting went very well and we had all our queries clarified. We are very pleased with the SS and the brickies as they even rectified a number of minor issues before they left today.

The schedule is for roofing to commence on Thursday.

Hootie, I remember you asking about edging for where your vinyl planks meet your carpeted area's. Ours is a thin metal strip, not plastic, and doesn't look too bad.

Thanks for the photo kellydoug! That actually looks quite good. I'm not so adverse to the transition being a strip now. Hopefully we will be able to change it to a metal one like yours, but if not then I think we should be ok with a plastic one.
