We did however, initiate the purchase of some furniture for the new home (when it's built)...we bought some of these sometime ago and are slowly accumulating bits and pieces for when we are ready to move in: House number - in Frank Lloyd Wright Exhibition Font format: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Dining chairs: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Alfresco chairs: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Breakfast bench stools/barstools: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Lamp for Living Room behind sofa: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hoping for sunny days next week so that the brickies can continue! ![]() Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - Bricklaying! 204Apr 10, 2015 10:30 pm ![]() Luv your dining chairs and everything Scandi. Thanks trixee, we are slowing adding to the furniture collection ![]() Bricks Issue The wife brought this to my attention today. The bricks below the full height windows in the dining did not seem to be laid consistently, the photo below hopefully shows what we mean. It's hard to capture it on photo so I've highlighted the area in the 2nd pic: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The bricks in the area indicated by the arrow seems to have been pushed in while being laid,if you know what I mean. SS has been informed and hopefully we can get the issue resolved. Hope they get onto that quickly! Last thing you want is a compromised wall! Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - :( 210Apr 14, 2015 12:20 pm I've edited my previous post because we had a discussion with the SS and clarifications have been made.
Apparently the no show for the last 2 days was due to the brickies being pulled off for another job, which I understand is the norm. I guess that we will not be informed each time the brickies are pulled off to another job.... Yes there is a delay in the removal of the boundary fence to build the boundary garage wall and this is due to the various delays in the schedule, weather or otherwise. We have been assured that the bricks would be completed on schedule. I discussed with my wife if she was happy with the level of communication we had so far and she said she was. Well, if she's happy, then I'm happy! ![]() Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - :( 211Apr 14, 2015 12:29 pm If its not one thing its another isnt it? Not fun about the issues getting in touch with the SS. They need to be able to answer your questions, they're not doing their job properly if they dont! They need to be able to answer your questions, they're not doing their job properly if they dont! [I have edited the previous reply as we have our own reasons] After chatting with the SS on site, we have regained confidence that the build will be on schedule. He was very willing to look into the bricks issue below the dining room windows for us. Being first time building, we might naturally "over-worry", so we are not trying to go with the flow ![]() We do understand that everyone is busy and a quick reply or acknowledgement of our query would have sufficed. Onward and forward! ![]() Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - :( 213Apr 14, 2015 2:07 pm Bad communication seems to be a theme this week! Have you contacted your CLO. They may be able to get some kind of response from the SS - or try calling from a different number!!
Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - :( 214Apr 14, 2015 2:11 pm Poooooooo! Nothing worse than tools down and poor / non-existent communication. I hope you hear back from the SS today - nothing worse than rocking up to site like no mates mcgee waiting for someone that isn't going to show. On a similar note, we're about to raise the following with our SS - looks as though fully supporting the sliding door wasn't all that important: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - :( 215Apr 14, 2015 2:20 pm ![]() Bad communication seems to be a theme at RI this week! Lol, it seems like it's "Bad Communications Week" for some of the building industry then! ![]() ![]() We'll keep trying and see what happens. Yeah apparently from the testimonials on the company website, it seems that our SS is very punctual for appointments. I feel that we are going to find out for ourselves tomorrow. I must say that from your photo the sliding door install doesn't look right! Shouldn't that side of the door be resting on the slab?? Good that you spotted it and got a photo for the discussion with your SS! ![]() Love the pointing finger in the photo, I should have thought of that instead of having to edit photos next time ![]() Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - :( 216Apr 14, 2015 2:22 pm ![]() Love the pointing finger in the photo, I should have thought of that instead of having to edit photos next time ![]() ![]() Seksui KDR in Sydney (2015-2016) Links --> | H1 thread | Final plans | Timing of works updated 9/3/16 | Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - :( 217Apr 14, 2015 2:27 pm ![]() You could just carry a red arrow around with you and place it in the photograph ![]() Perfect idea clintdb! ![]() Hope that I won't have to use the arrow too often though! ![]() Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - Progress!!! 218Apr 15, 2015 7:41 pm Update: Bricks (Day 7) - 15 April 2015 Brickies returned to work onsite today! ![]() ![]() Went back this afternoon to find they had completed some internal bricking and my daughter squealed in delight when she found that the walls in her bedroom were up!: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ She is absolutely in love with the highlight window in her room! I should also mention that we feel that meeting with the SS at this stage of our build had its advantages. While the meeting was called to address the bricks below the dining room window issue, it was great to place a face to the name. After the meeting, we also felt more reassured that the schedule would be met. We also got to chat with several of the brickies, which was great.
