We are very pleased that the brickies have started , they finished in the arvo then a few hours later the rains came.....

Hope the weather plays ball...doesn't look great for tomorrow morning but it's supposed to clear in the arvo.

If only my TV remote could control the weather and turn off the rain lol...

I don't think this rain will stop them, it's not much of a rain event. I thought we were going to be rained out last week but they started work anyway and the rain cleared up by the time I got to work.

Plumber also did some work on the pipes today and according to the kids, we have "footy goal posts" lol:

Lol, we had a look at our plans again and discovered that these pipes were rainwater pipes, so figured that's the reason the plumber left the pipes at that height as some sort of indication to the builder (?)...kids still prefer to think of them as footy goal posts lol...

Update: Bricks (Day 4) - 31 May 2015

So we got a call from the SS abt 9am or so this morning...apparently he is pulling the brickies off our job to complete an "urgent" job elsewhere ...think it will be ard 1.5 days that they will be away, so not much progress today ....with the Easter long weekend coming up, we are hoping that the brickies will return to site on Thursday so that we can at least see some more progress before the long weekend.

The wife and I are not too pleased about this but the SS has assured us that we will still be on schedule...I guess times like these will be inevitable...

On the bright side, our living room stacker door frame was mounted today:

Yeah was speaking to a few people who are building and it seems normal. Being first time builders, we are naturally impatient....lol



Haha, yes, we are thinking that it would look great too My wife originally wanted bifold doors (in place of the builder's standard sliding doors), but we were quoted an additional variance of $6.5K for the bifolds , so that idea went out the window...

The stacker doors were a fraction of the price, so that went in. There will be 2 sliding panels and 1 fixed panel.

3 weeks for brick to be delivered? That's a while but maybe the builder doesn't want the bricks to be there too long before the brickies are due?

Yes, we got the brickies back just the day before Good Friday, but due to the bad weather, no brickwork done at all going to be done this week Hope your brickies have showed up

Update: Bricks (Day 6) - Between 3/4/5 April 2015

We had gone down south camping over the Easter break and were surprised to see that some work had been done during the break. The brickies probably knew that they were not going to get much done this week due to the wet weather forecast this week.

Dropping by the site after driving back from camp, we saw some internal walls and insulation had been completed on the dining room side:

As you can tell from the gloomy background (this was on Easter Monday), this was how the rest of the week's weather would be, so we'd be lucky if they started up work again on Monday. I swear winter decided to give us an early preview this year.

Fingers crossed for better weather next week.
