Does it get too hot in summer??? Can't decide to upgrade facade any help or opinions would be appreciated! Re: Glass balcony 2Aug 08, 2014 12:25 pm Perriness we are getting glass balustrade around our deck as it's raised. I also had one in my last house. Didn't get too hot in Summer and it did provide a break from the wind (we're in a windy spot). We are doing it through a private contractor. It's expensive but so was the wires balustrade. Also, I would recommend getting glass shield or similar applied. So much easier to clean. Re: Glass balcony 3Aug 09, 2014 10:58 pm If you don't mind, how much per meter is glass balustrade? My alfresco is also raised and I may need to look into it soon. Re: Glass balcony 4Aug 09, 2014 11:06 pm Pongie only this week have we started seriously shopping around. Our deck is 7.52 X 4160 metres and glass balustrade is coming in anywhere between $6500-$7800. Hope that helps. Re: Glass balcony 5Aug 10, 2014 7:55 am How many sides are you doing the balustrade? Mine is 4m by 3.2m but I only need to do the one side (4m). Re: Glass balcony 7Aug 10, 2014 7:07 pm Our glass balustrade worked out approx $400 per metre.
