Just mix them to what you want? There is no design rule that every tap and fixture needs to match each other:). Sure if you have two taps in the bathroom you want those to match. We found that in our case we really liked a tap lever set and it comes separately so we can use it with other spouts as well as the range it comes from.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Have you found any that the mixer looks NOTHING like the bath taps??? I have!! Now I know why the selection from WACB had some of one range, and the rest were random!!

I know you can mix and match tapware, but they need to look similar. Or so I've been told.

Trees - thank you! Yes! I saw this lovely basin tap that had beautiful curves with just the right amount of edges, and then the matching mixer tap was like a square block. Or the lovely and sleek mixers somehow had a completely mismatched tap that looked like it belonged to a different range. It's almost like they came from completely different design teams.

Whinge time. I'm trying to finalise my plumbing fixtures, and you wouldn't think it would be this hard! Honestly, why can't tapware makers make everything you need? Or you find one thing you like in a range, but the rest of the range is crap. Or you like say 90%, but they've decided that the mixer should be hideous for some reason. Seriously! It shouldn't be this hard! Bah.

I love this! Perhaps you should design your own plumbing fixtures Trixee!!! And your selling point can be "100% good looking..." :wink:

I don't really like our bath tap (from the Caroma Quatro range) it sticks out and will probably knock someone in the head all Grey's Anatomy style with a kid in ER with a tap sticking out of their head. The designers mustn't imagine sitting in a bath, or washing their hands etc. and think yeah JEEEZ this will work well :th:

I hear ya! We ended up picking a bath spout in a different range because the one that was supposed to go with the mixer was butt ugly. In the end we got stuffed around and the bath spout we chose was no longer available - Grrrrr!

As long as it is complimentary I don't think it matters that they are not matching - start a trend!!

I like a lot of the Caroma Quatro range, but I see what you mean about the bath taps. I wonder if there's a statistic on ER cases of kids with taps sticking out of their heads... :th:

This is the thing though, what *I* consider to be complimentary may not be what other people think is complimentary. See, I did think that what I'd chosen was complimentary, but the plumbing shop boss came back and said he didn't think it was, and suggested something else that I thought looked even more out of place! I should probably just go with my initial selection. But it annoys me that I was contradicted by someone in the business, and now I'm questioning my choices. And hating everything!

I love this conversation, it's making me giggle. Though trixee i do understand your frustration. We really struggled. Things we liked online were disappointing in real life. The caroma ones we settled on are the deadly ones like justy, here's hoping we don't become a statistic. I don't love it, and didn’t think i wanted something so square, but the basins ended up being square and the designer recommended it. I'm sure they'll be fine but jot my fave. I am excited about my ensuite shower head, if it ever gets installed. It doesn't match the taps at all but i just loved it so we splurged. Good luck.

I love the splurge, looking forward to seeing it!

Going back to visit the bathroom place again tomorrow to get a third opinion! I'm sure someone somewhere will agree with me :lol:

Haha out of grey's anatomy.. bath spouts like male anatomy... lol! Yeah I know what you mean. I don't think ours will all go together either. Very strange how items within the same range can look so different to others!

Arrgghh! you guys are making me really nervous that they haven't given us the right spout. We've gone with the Dorf range so it will look well out of place if it's the original spec spout.

I'm off to check my Addenda.........

You know what trixee I have never once gone to someone's house and looked at their tapware...ever

to be honest it took me 5 weeks to even realize I got the wrong mixer in my kitchen haha. My advice is go with your gut and stuff what others opinions are

Separate all the bathrooms. One wc, one shower room, one bath tub room.

But know what you mean

Although we weren't super fussed but did change the mixer for the shower to be different to everything else! Oh and the shower is different too!

I'm beginning to think that no-one actually cares except for bathroom people! :lol:

I think I'll stick with my original choices unless they can show me something astounding for an amazing price!

unless you plan on putting your house on one of those shows on TV where they discuss every little bit .... I wouldn't worry about it. What really matters is that it actually works! ..

Walking through the house today it's beginning to hit home that this is an actual house! Still not sure it's mine though. :-S

While not everything's completed, it certainly looks like we now have actual rooms.
