I put in a large bathroom window and changed both ensuite and bathroom to clear for $60 or there abouts!! I'm not sure if it's toughened. It's basically a laminated layer between 2 panes of glass. We already have clear glass around the spa bath so we can have a view while soaking in the tub (lots of dense exterior landscaping planned!) but thought that clear glass the full length of the shower would be a bit too racy!  Yeah laminated/toughened. Think your quote is way too pricey. Even when I spoke directly to the window manufacturer he told me probably about $20 difference for the pane of glass to be clear... Gosh it was so exciting to be out there this morning and see people DOING stuff! Still haven't met the SS, I don't think there is a specific plan to introduce him but no doubt will run into him at some point anyway.
