Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1782Oct 07, 2015 4:56 pm Thanks Perth_Euro. We're not completely sure what we're using the floor GPO for, but will probably use it as an emergency charge for a laptop or a lamp. I envision a console table behind a couch in that general area. Thats awesome ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1784Oct 09, 2015 3:08 am It is a very good idea - Trixee are you having it in a special housing? I imagine it would need something as a tile floor usually gets cleaned with water? Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1785Oct 09, 2015 10:56 am Thanks mal, Yes, it will be in a box something like this: http://www.cableduct.com.au/floor-boxes/ffob-540.html So the floor tile will sit inside the lid so it blends in more. Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1786Oct 10, 2015 9:51 am I'd be very interested to see when it is installed as we had been thinking about having one fitted. My build thread: Custom build on 40 acres viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75656 Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1787Oct 10, 2015 9:32 pm That's really interesting trixee - also looking forward to see it in situ ![]() Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1788Oct 10, 2015 10:18 pm love the ensuite .. looks great! .. just what I need right now! .. been painting my fencing/wall today .. got sun burnt and definitely need a bath to relax Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1789Oct 13, 2015 7:24 pm How's things Trixee? Seems we have come to that part we were dreading, be part where it all slows down My topic thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76249&start=20#p1316378 Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1790Oct 13, 2015 7:30 pm ![]() How's things Trixee? Seems we have come to that part we were dreading, be part where it all slows down Gawd, tell me about it! Now that you've brought it up, here's my whinge. Apparently someone went around yesterday to dig some holes. Yay. I sent another email asking for a handover date and got ignored. Tried to organise a driveway and failed at that too because the guy we want to use is going to Bali today and we couldn't find a time before then. Oh, and we discovered that they hadn't allowed for venting of induction cooktop in the kitchen cabinetry. Ho hum. But the weather's nice this week, so that's something! ![]() Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1791Oct 13, 2015 8:21 pm Just read your blog about choosing the right cabinetry and indeed Mrs Hootie would agree with you on all points there ![]() Yay for having someone else who is also going handleless. We found that it just give the kitchen a cleaner look and with the colour of you cabinets, it all looks gorgeous! My jaw dropped when i saw your wall tiles! Really fab, love them! Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1793Oct 14, 2015 5:43 am You've had nice weather? MARVELOUS! ![]() We've also had some mysterious holes dug - I've done some googling of the valves we have on our plan/addenda and I think one may be for the reflux thing for the hobless showers. I was under the impression that was meant to be installed/provided for at slab stage ![]() So will the venting thing require much rework - hope not? Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1794Oct 14, 2015 11:04 am We have the same issue with the reflux valve, it has to be moved. All the drain locations have to be moved, actually. Something about not being able to be accurate enough when slab goes down so this seems to be a common thing. We looked into the venting thing... dunno. Apparently the installation instructions for the brand we got doesn't mention it, but other brands do. So I'm not sure what will happen at this point. I would be VERY annoyed if our cooktop overheated and got destroyed because of that. Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1795Oct 14, 2015 11:16 am Also, we got word last night that we need to get the light fittings to the house today, so we might see some action tomorrow! Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1796Oct 14, 2015 12:11 pm Fingers crossed for you Trixee. It seems to be a standard thing that once cabinets are in things grind to a halt for a while and then suddenly get going again! Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1797Oct 14, 2015 5:13 pm I'll keep fingers crossed too trixee that the cooktop works out! LIGHTS how exciting ![]() Oh and thanks for the info re the valve - it has helped to put my mind at rest - I wonder if this has delayed some things for us - probably. Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1798Oct 14, 2015 5:23 pm It shouldn't cause any delays Mal, as it doesn't really affect anything except paving. Unless you're having other complicated stuff done outside. After a call to Siemens, they said that apparently the cooktop doesn't need ventilation. A bit unusual, but whatever. Crisis averted! ![]() Went over to drop off the lights today to find the electrician already there, so we got a little bit excited. Only to find that they were installing the wrong light switches ![]() Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1799Oct 14, 2015 5:50 pm Oh perfect timing! I did the same with my kitchen tap, came in just as the plumber was about to install the wrong one. How exciting, hanging out for lighting pics!! ![]() Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1800Oct 14, 2015 6:18 pm Oh dear! Good news about the ventilation and that you managed to avert another mini crisis - yes the email issues are very selective hehe. We're not having any special things outside so hopefully it'll all work out. 0 1095 We came across your post and it mirrors our situation. Have you progressed in the interim and would you have any advice for us? Thanks in advance! 40 23513 Hi Josh & Eve, thanks for the info, we have decided to play it safe and have 3 phase installed if it is available, would rather be safe than sorry. cheers, Lynne 12 5844 |
