Just after we turned up, the window guy also turned up, as he had to finish something off. He managed to get in through a window and let us in. The open plan area is looking cosy now!

Wow Trixee - you're at lock-up CONGRATS!!! I see they've also removed the eaves they did incorrectly on the portico - and love the fact you have fancy cornices in the garage!

You know what mal - I hadn't even noticed!

They must have done that when the fixing carpenter did all the boarding up.

That entrance looks very stylish. Have they covered up the windows? Looks like corrugated iron leaning on them.

Thanks mnt! The windows at the back haven't actually been put in yet so the corrugated iron isn't leaning against them as such.

We've been getting some minor issues with the cabinetry, and are arranging to meet up with him and check the detail is correct before they go in on the 25th. Tiling and texture coat will start after that.
So looks like another couple of weeks of waiting around, which I'm sure is going to be excruciating but probably a good thing as I've come down with a cold

Probably a good time to start organising the handover list!

Found a supplier/installer for our timber floorboards, turns out they do lots of jobs for our builder so they're just liaising with SS directly now, which makes things nice and easy!

SS gave me the name of their driveway guy so will ring and get a quote. Hopefully that will be nice and easy too.

I got a nice surprise yesterday, the flooring company called me up and said they'd spoken to my builder and had organised to start on installing the timber floors next week! So nice to see some initiative!
So site meeting on Thursday to go over how they will be installed, then they will do waterproofing on Friday and lay out the boards for acclimatization next week. I rang the SS to double-check, and he said yep, all sorted and ready to go.

Then they sent me an invoice :lol:

Which I'd better pay today!

Also happening next week, a meeting with the cabinetmaker to check the templates and address an issue with handles - we wanted handleless but the high lift doors apparently need some, so we need to look at options there.

Then, in a couple of weeks, we meet with the tiler and the tiling starts! Huzzah!

Oooh youre build is so exciting trixee!! Fantastic news about your floors. So nice to hear positive build initiatives! Your portico looks very grand and i cant wait to see your tiles laid either!! You must be so happy with how its all going trix!
