Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1001Apr 28, 2015 10:32 pm What! How ridiculous. Have you checked out the prices on deluxe appliances online? I'm looking at buying our ovens and cooktop through them but I'm just a bit nervous about warranty. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76666 our custom build on 25 acres Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1002Apr 28, 2015 11:09 pm Admodra - we're in the same boat! We thought we would just check local prices just in case, both Winning and Kambos came back with really good deals, so much that we thought we'd get them locally to avoid any warranty issues. It's looking quite probable that we'll have to wait for the newer models anyway, and it seems unlikely that the local players will be able to give us good deals on them, so we might just end up importing through deluxe/EU appliances anyway. The supply issue only seems to apply to the ovens, warming drawer, and cooktop. The dishwasher and rangehood local prices and availability seem OK. PM me if you want model & price details. Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1003Apr 29, 2015 6:29 pm That is ridiculous! And I can see why you'd want to import/get it online - appliance prices seem extortionate in Aus ![]() Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1004Apr 29, 2015 9:45 pm It's insane mal! Unfortunately supplying our own means taking on risk of theft prior to installation, so we're going to have to be careful with handing things over willy nilly. Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1005Apr 30, 2015 12:06 pm Yes I'm having the same thoughts on supply but what can you do? I'm gonna see if they will let me deliver them same day, can't hurt to ask...all they have to do is call us... Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1006Apr 30, 2015 12:25 pm Yeah - this supply your own thing is a nuisance. Currently storing fireplace with friends, but will have to organise delivery at the "right moment". Hope you've got capacity to store and deliver your own stuff Trixee. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1007Apr 30, 2015 3:05 pm Wev have the storage space, not sure about fitting an oven in the mx-5 though! ![]() Via Tapatalk. viewtopic.php?t=72683 Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1008Apr 30, 2015 4:03 pm roof off, no passengers, should be fine ![]() Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1009May 03, 2015 11:22 pm Goodness, I've been flat out this week so haven't had much time to catch up on everyone's threads. The good news is that we've had our site clean and roof timbers have been delivered! There must be a way of dealing with this as lots of people must do it. Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1012May 03, 2015 11:53 pm That's a great idea Aussie Mark, though I have quite a mixed bag of owner-supplied items. (Pendant lights, integrated dishwasher, fireplace.) Too many different trades involved for me, I think. What kind of items are you installing on handover day? http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1013May 04, 2015 1:14 am Can't believe you're up to roof timbers already trixee! We had some blue and were told they are all treated. Cant remember exactly where they were used though- i think maybe the horizontal beams. Hope you score some decent weather to get the roof on asap. Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1014May 04, 2015 1:19 am Thanks rache, might rain tomorrow morning but supposed to be fine weather all week other than that! Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1015May 04, 2015 1:22 am Trixee I think the green are pest treated like you get with copper logs, seems like the blue would be for something else cos the copper logs are green... Since you changed your blog name and self-hosted, your posts show up in my wordpress feed late. When they do show up they are in chronological order, so I might not go back through posts I've already read to find it, unless I know to look. Just thought you'd like to know. Announcing the posts elsewhere is a good idea. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Trixee's Passive Solar Build Perth 1020May 04, 2015 4:48 am Yay for timber deliveries ![]() 0 1099 We came across your post and it mirrors our situation.
