Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 07, 2014 2:21 pm I just found this forum a bit late. I am now waiting for the construction work to begin. I saw some amazing house plan and idea and i wish that i would have found this forum earlier. I bought a land sometime June last year and was told title to be ready in September/October but it got delayed till February this year. I made a mistake of signing with RI in September and have to pay a variation of 9k which totally spoil my plan for some add-on in prestart Nevertheless, the process of constructing my first home is very exciting and i am looking forward to it. Below are my floor plan. although i cant make any more changes but would also love to receive some feedback be it positive or negative so that i can be well prepared for my second home. PS. sorry for my bad grammar as i am not a native speaker Below are my plan: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Redink Built First Home - Waiting for construction 2Aug 07, 2014 3:17 pm Welcome Jay89!!! And congratulations on your first build!! I love your plan, it reminds me a little but of my plan (we are building the Bayview through redink homes) Looking forward to following your build Re: Redink Built First Home - Waiting for construction 3Aug 07, 2014 3:37 pm Found you. Yep you're just around the block from us LOVE your plan. Says it's the Alfresco, which is what our started as also, but i just love your changes. I have a it of floor plan envy. Your kitchen is huge. The courtyard off Master is excellent. We're planning something similar, as we put a slider in off the Master, but we'll finish it off ourselves after handover. Still not sure what exactly we'll do there, but we want it to be a place for us grown ups to relax:) I'm pretty sure a hammock will be part of the plan! Sorry to hear of your delays. You bought your land before we did, why the title delays? When we bought in August they told us titles in October, but it delayed until Nov/December, which wasn't too bad. Why has Redink charged you, is it because of the title delays? How frustrating for you. Hopefully we'll both get some activity on our blocks soon!!!! Thanks i love my floor plan as well its pretty much taking bits and piece from different display home and combine together by my salerep Bayview is very similar to mine. I actually took mine based on the Victoria but my land size is too small to fit it in so we have to choose something else. Do you have a thread i could follow your build? Hi Ardie, its the sales rep who uses his program to do the costing and its the cheapest if we use The Alfresco based price. We wanted The Victorian but its too big and too pricey so we can only just choose certain area we like which is the kitchen and the master bedroom. I am still wondering what i can do with the courtyard maybe a small table and 2 chairs .Hammock is definitely a good idea. I think my budget would be very tight. so i think i would be focusing on the interior more before thinking about the backyard. Yeah that's why i was wondering why is it your title is out earlier then mine. I think my title have some problem with the council not approving something Stockland did. yeah RI charged be because of the title delay. I just spoke to my prestart assistant and she say i am about 3-4 weekish to begin with construction. Hopefully construction will begin soon Re: Redink Built First Home - Waiting for construction 6Aug 10, 2014 9:04 pm Hi Jay89 Love the courtyard. It will be nice to have that little place. The WIP is cool, so are they sliding doors? Re: Redink Built First Home - Waiting for construction 7Nov 22, 2014 2:29 pm Hey Jay89 last time i drove by your block i noticed brickwork hadn't started yet really hope by now it has. We're going to head over this weekend sometime to check on ours so may take a look at yours too. This sloooow building process is soooo frustrating. The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19096 Hi Mrboh Just wondering if you have any BAL or flame zone issues on your block, as getting compliance with BAL requirements whilst doing bearers and joists is tough.
