Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 01, 2014 2:57 pm Hi all,
Another query from my home build. Is it normal to have the slab surface uneven around the area where the storm and sewer pipes are? Tha slab looks pretty even overall but just around those pipes, there is a depression. Please see attached photos. Should I be worried ? Photos here now: Depression can be seen in the next two photos: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The overall look of slab: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Uneven slab around sewer pipes-Is this normal?? 2Aug 01, 2014 4:08 pm Keen to see the photo of this. You need to sign up to imageshack or photobucket. I use photobucket so I can only give instructions on that. Click upload in photobucket (orange button in the middle of the screen) Click choose photos and videos. This will open a new window. Browse through your computer files and find the picture you want. If you want to do multiple pictures just hold down Ctrl and click on the photos you want. Once you've selected your photos click open. You'll then go back to photobucket. Open the picture you just uploaded (click on it) Copy and paste the IMG code (the very last one listed under links to share this photo) http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af137/Madam-Stephy/Simonds%20Sierra%20build/link_zps0f1dc078.jpg If you are using a pc just double click on the code and the box will turn yellow and say copied. Then go to where you want your picture to show in your post/reply and press Ctrl+V or right click and choose paste. Hope this helps! Unfortunately this is all too normal, but avoidable. The reason for this is when the wetseal is applied and the puddle flange is fitted to the waste pipe it doesnt sit higher than the slab. Then the tiles can sit nicely over the top. This was super helpful Re: Uneven slab around sewer pipes-Is this normal?? 8Aug 02, 2014 3:07 am Looks normal to me - generally wet areas are slightly lower than the main slab. I assume to make it easier for the tiler to slope the run off to the drains. Handy tip i learn't the first time i built. If your curious whether something is right or not, have a browse of other slabs around the area. If it's the same on alot of them, then likely normal. If not question it with your builder. Of course if you have any doubts def worth asking the question anyway! Re: Uneven slab around sewer pipes-Is this normal?? 9Aug 02, 2014 9:29 am No problem! Looks normal from what I know.
