Still have a haze but I think I need to get someone in and give them a good clean . Are those tiles from imported ceramics . They look like a lady around the corners tiles she had the same problem . Everything use to stick to them . She built with a small builder who paid for them to be cleaned . I wish too that I had chosen something different . The tiles are from Crosby Tiles i think, through the builder of course. _______________________ KEYYYSSS!! ~ 14/10/15 viewtopic.php?t=72518 Our Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72518 KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 302Dec 08, 2015 1:02 am Decka Have you tried Davco Tile and grout cleaner to remove the haze from the tiles? I used it after I had tiles put down in my last house, worked a treat. Sure have! Three times! I've tried mopping it, scrubbing each tile with it and letting it sit for a few mins... May have been a slight improvement but not in getting rid of the haze obviously. Might have to try it un-diluted! I'm starting to think that maybe that's how those tiles are, being of a standard range and all... _______________________ KEYYYSSS!! ~ 14/10/15 viewtopic.php?t=72518 Our Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72518 KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 303Dec 08, 2015 2:18 pm We had air cons installed in living and master today. I'm not very happy with placement of either, although we didn't have much of a choice in master. However hubby is furious the one in the living area isn't centred above the sliding door. Installer waffled on about there being a steel plate above the sliding door so said he could only try and drill into wall and "see". I had to make a decision on the spot so i opted for the far right - but didn't think it would be completely far right I have to admit it looks aweful and im trying to think of ways to even the space out. Perhaps if i go for the full height sheers on the sliding door it will balance the space out. Much cheaper than re-locating the unit. Im also keeping in mind we have yet to paint, furnish, decorate etc.. What do you guys think?? I'm really needing some positive vibes here.. lol Master: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Living: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ _______________________ KEYYYSSS!! ~ 14/10/15 viewtopic.php?t=72518 Our Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72518 Re: KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 304Dec 08, 2015 2:22 pm The master bed one allows you to put an art work above the bed, and the lounge one, well it's great it's positioned straight over the lounge so cools you down/heats you up straight away KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 305Dec 08, 2015 2:26 pm cat_dunc The master bed one allows you to put an art work above the bed, and the lounge one, well it's great it's positioned straight over the lounge so cools you down/heats you up straight away Thanks Cat My dream was to wallpaper that wall in Master actually But it honestly doesn't bother me so much. I'm thinking once it's painted and new bed goes in, maybe some floating shelves here and there etc it won't be such an eyesore. The Living one i can direct the air to my son's bedroom and also into my office so it does the job, but hubby is furious at how it looks. Just trying to think of how what to do with the space up high since we have 31c ceilings there, high ceilings are great if you know how to "work" them and i certainly don't lol _______________________ KEYYYSSS!! ~ 14/10/15 viewtopic.php?t=72518 Our Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72518 Re: KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 306Dec 08, 2015 2:41 pm I think if you put art work or photo frames on the wall below it then you won't notice it so much Make the art or photo frames the highlight of the area, the air con will disappear Re: KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 307Dec 08, 2015 3:36 pm I think it looks fine as it is inline with your couch but sheers will deff help if it really bothers you just line the curtain rod up with the top of the A/C and run them to be next to the A/C I think the master bedroom placement would bug me more than the living as it doesn't really line up with anything, but as said it allows you to put art or whatever above the bed. Thanks Archetto Like i said the place is as it was when we moved in, apart from sealing the walls we've not done anything else so perhaps i will await to make judgement until new furniture is in place. At present what you see in terms of furniture are hand me downs in not so great condition but they do the job. I have a white bedroom suite that's been in boxes for the last 2 years but we need to paint and wall paper before they get assembled. Beneath the a/c we plan on putting a nice Victoria from Revenge style chair with a floating shelf or something, not sure yet but the chair is def on the cards for that space so i think it will be ok! _______________________ KEYYYSSS!! ~ 14/10/15 viewtopic.php?t=72518 Our Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72518 Re: KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 309Dec 08, 2015 7:31 pm Dream_Catchers Decka Have you tried Davco Tile and grout cleaner to remove the haze from the tiles? The aircons look fine to me, but I just think of them as aircon and nothing much more, not to sure that makes sense. . As long as they are in the best spot to work that is all that would worry me. Also the lounge room one looks better there as it is seems a bit more out of the way and not as much as feature. Of course IMHO Re: KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 310Dec 11, 2015 2:33 am Yeah Decka! I used to think the same, but now im in my own house i keep 2nd guessing myself because i want to "get it right" I wanted them in the best position possible to suit our needs, in particular the living room one _______________________ KEYYYSSS!! ~ 14/10/15 viewtopic.php?t=72518 Our Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72518 Re: KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 311Dec 12, 2015 7:35 pm Just catching up DC. Sorry to hear about all the issues but hang in there, you will get there in your own time, there is no rush, we are all different. We also came a long way but won't get into detail, just thought I would mention maybe it will make you feel better. They say where there is a will there is a way! I also think the air con is ok where it is in the living room, being off centre makes it less of a feature. Also bought that same mop, yet to use it and see how we go. Had to use earthchoice dishwashing liquid and warm water to scrub the tiles using a bath sponge and wipe off with the micro fibre cloths. They came out good so i think going forward I will just use water and that mop. A friend of mine had issues with her tiles and she tried lots of different cleaners but she says Sure clean is the best. Haven't used it myself but she said it did the trick for her, maybe you can try it. https://m.masters.com.au/mob/product/10 ... I'm then asked the question where or what colour / style was it in our first house we built many moons ago and I can never remember . So much for agonising over things you don't remember years down the track, but it's just part of being house proud and wanting things perfect, something that everyone n this forum has in common Re: KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 313Dec 13, 2015 2:03 am Ourmansion Just catching up DC. If i had the money i'd pay someone but im a bit of a martha stewart and decided to put my sewing skills to practice. lol I'm not sure i updated my own thread though so here they are. I was lucky (finally!) and scored this gorgeous sheer grey fabric down to $5pm from $30pm I plan on having them full ceiling length, over the track so it's concealed. Well at least that's the plan. I've noticed the more contemporary look is in at the moment where the curtain hangs just beneath the track making a wave effect which i like but i prefer the gathered look over the track. Anyway pics! Photos don't do them justice.. fabric and colour is so high quality! I bought it years ago to put up while we were renting - about 4 years ago now! Been couped up in luggage since! So silky Unfortunately the silly angled bulkhead in our room doesn't allow me to hang these up full length Trying to think of a way around it... Suggestions? I'll post a pic of the bulkhead seperately. I don't think there is anything wrong with the placement of the aircon units, I think it will be lovely to sit on that sofa in Perth's summer with it switched on x Re: KEYYYSSS!! 14/10/15 ~ First Home, Alkimos WA 317Dec 15, 2015 9:02 pm I really love those colors! The fabric looks stunning! The wave is definitely the way to go, 3 pinch pleat is a bit dated.. I've noticed all the displays are doing the wave. First Build, Commodore Homes, Honeywood, Wandi. viewtopic.php?t=77170 Thanks hun x I like the wave but am actually going to hide the track, meaning i won't have the wave forming beneath the track.
