And we are done! 1208Jan 03, 2016 11:23 am In the main yes we love them. Because they are click system the floor didn't need screeding although the installers had some trouble with bumps in the slab. One thing though is don't believe what they tell you about it not scratching. We have some huge ones from furniture and have had to put felt pads on all the chairs etc Re: 1st build Redink, Lwr Chittering. And we are done! 1209Jan 26, 2016 10:50 pm Glad to hear it's going well Nikki. Shame about RI post-service but hopefully they will get onto it. Bedroom looks fantastic, gorgeous bedhead! Re: 1st build Redink, Lwr Chittering. Post handover update 1210Feb 12, 2016 11:21 am Hey there H1'ers! Haven't been on here very much lately as things have slowed down considerably since moving. We still have a list as long as your arm of stuff we still need to do but with all our savings gone it's going to be a long term project to do it all! The one thing I have been a busy girl with is building my retaining wall. Other than my time and hard work it's completely free as I'm building it out of the rocks we have on the block. Seriously, I haven't even made a dent in the piles we have! Work on it had been a bit slow the last couple of weeks firstly thanks to the storms and then the heatwave, but I'm getting there.... **Trying to upload pictures but it's not working!** In other news our solar HWS has sh*t itself already! We had the plumber out (via RI maintenance) yesterday and they reckon the control board for the pump has gone and was probably faulty from the off. Bit of a pain in the backside having to pay for the electric boost in what has been the hottest week for decades! We're also still waiting on RI to confirm if they are ever going to fill some of the gaps in the brickwork that the SS promised at lock up would get done! I'm not holding my breath but I won't be dropping it any time soon. I can't believe we've been in over two months already. It'll time for 6 month maintenance before I know it!! Re: 1st build Redink, Lwr Chittering. Post handover update 1211Feb 12, 2016 2:40 pm It's crazy how quick it goes once you have the keys!! I was thinking the same thing, where did those 2 months go?? We are the same as you too, once we finish our fence, put the shed in and install some security we will have $0 in our house account! So we will be back to saving again for everything else that needs doing like landscaping etc, in the mean time I like not having to worry about maintaining a garden/lawn! Post handover update 1213Feb 16, 2016 10:50 am Good job on the retaining wall Nikki. I think we will be doing something similar along the front of ours as well. As much as I would love to put in a lovely limestone wall the budget isn't going to stretch that far anytime soon - so 'handpicked' limestone rocks it will be lol Re: 1st build Redink, Lwr Chittering. Post handover update 1214Feb 20, 2016 7:53 pm Hey Nikki! I hear you on the long list and slowing down. How annoying about the HWS! But it's great that you can do things at your own pace. The rock retaining wall looks great! Re: 1st build Redink, Lwr Chittering. Post handover update 1215Mar 23, 2016 2:34 am Hi there. So glad you updated. We were up your way a week or do ba k and I thought how lovely your home was looking. We finally have a block! Will message you soon. We have red ink on our short list but your recent post about how they have not fixed things makes me nervous all over again. But Lordy it is hard to get anyone to build in chittering. ? Some want a $10k surcharge which in this climate is just crazy. . Re: 1st build Redink, Lwr Chittering. Post handover update 1216Mar 24, 2016 10:25 am scrapbizz Hi there. So glad you updated. Some want a $10k surcharge which in this climate is just crazy. Hiya - Long time no speak! The driveway isn't looking so lovely after the rains last week. We REALLY need to get it done properly before winter gets here for real. Where have you bought?? Unfortunately there are only about half a dozen builders that will come out our way and they all charge for the pleasure! RI weren't too bad as I remember, I think it was about $7k. The industry was in a very different place back then though. Remember when we were all complaining because there weren't any brickies to be had!! Don't be too put off by our post handover experience. To be fair we have had very few issues and anything big (The solar part of the HWS stopped working at one point) was rectified by the office very quickly. I was just extremely disappointed that our good faith and trust was abused by one particular person. We agreed to a couple of things based on this trust and they didn't hold up their end. You live and learn I guess! Looking forward to hearing your updates! Hi there, We’ve recently had plans approved to add a 1st storey addition to our existing house for a growing family in Sydney. With the current cost of building… 0 4297 It seems very clear to me that your contract states that a security account does NOT need to be established so the answer to the builder is NO. If in doubt find a contract… 1 8510 2 31348 |
