Hi Everyone,
This is my first time entering a forum so please go easy on me! My partner and I have been stalking Home one for a while now and we are just so grateful for all the ideas that we thought it would be selfish of us not to share our experience and ideas with others. My partner has never built before where as I built a home four years ago with Planbuild (never again and I'm sure that would be a whole new blog!) We have come into this quite late so here is where we are at with the build so far
Lot size - 636sq
Slab down
Frame up
Roof on
Walls in
Windows and bifolds are in
* Some things I did differently to first build*
Decided to make the front door the statement, I wanted a big one! We have a large home and putting a normal size door on just didn't seem right.
Square set cornices - Although a little expensive worth it as we wanted a modern look. Wet areas and alfresco we were not allowed too
Pull out bin in Island bench - I hate bins on the kitchen floor!
Huge bathroom with shower heads side by side instead of opposite ends
Colourbond roof - I'm a manager at Mazda and was convinced to make sure you invest in an Anticon Blanket by many roofers we sold vehicles too. We haggled hard with the price of this but it has made a massive difference!
Built in Piggy in our sink for scraps!
We are purchasing a chrome slim line soap dispenser to build into kitchen bench so you don't have ugly Dettol wash bottles on your lovely bench top.
Commercial grade timber laminate and plush carpet in bedrooms after handover
Tinted grey glass on all front facing windows to street
Made extra storage spaces and man holes bigger to accommodate my 8ft xmas and other boxes.
Made Alfresco the same size as the display home in Brentwood rise (compliments of Plantation
Geez I think I could keep writing but I will leave it for now and hopefully Jordan can post some pics tomorrow.
