Now for the 'Things to do list'.. * Most of the doors need trimming as the carpet is so plush they wont open easily * En suite shower head leaking out the top when on * Bathroom sink not draining properly-blockage * Rear garage roller door not closing correctly (SS mended onsite) * Front door lock not working properly(SS mended onsite) * Site clean and brick acid wash. The SS was on the phone to the Plumber, Carpenter and Garage door people ( had to call garage people back as he sorted it) whist we were there and the flyscreen people also showed up and was fitting them during the inspection. As we were going around the SS noticed the front door lock wasn't clicking closed properly and put it on his list but after we had finished and was just putting light bulbs in he had gone and got his drill form the car, had the lock off and mended it there and then, he also mended the rear roller shutter door. So things ticked off the list already.... And for the good news, he recons we are working on getting the all important KEYS next Thursday 11/12/14... Love that your list is tiny! It reinforces what I've heard about Commodore/BGC building a very quality home! I've seen some huge PCI lists on here, with some rather concerning issues, but to see that your worst issue is maybe the internal doors?? is very reassuring. I didn't realise/ever ask but are flyscreens standard? Just on the doors to the alfresco? Or laundry also? Congrats on PCI!! First Build, Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach. That is fabulous news and your house looks amazing! Flyscreens are standard on the laundry too, but they have no locks or even a latch, just a really simple sliding door. ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! The bank had flagged the account and marked as urgent stating they needed to see when the SS and bank valuer could meet at the house for his inspection. Well long story and many phone calls later, the valuation is booked for 9am on thursday so its looking unlikely we will get the keys on thursday or friday this week as planned as we have to wait up to 24 hours for the report to come back before any kind of payment (bank cheque or transfer) ARGH... Re: Commodore Homes 1st time build- bushfire emergency had t 100Dec 16, 2014 2:27 pm Whilst writing my last post i went outside to pack the car and noticed a large cloud of smoke, called hubby to see if everytho g was ok as it looked in the direction of the new house and it was a few km away so he was happy. About 5 mins later im still packing the car and its getting bigger and blacker so i head back to the house, tons of smoke but its still far enough away to not worry, so i take the kids down to the park to look from the tower, there are loads of firemen, 6 helicopters and two waterbomers overhead. It starts to move really quickly so we leave heading back to pack the car up and hubby has already done it, at this point the fire is directly infront of our house with just the road separating us. I get the kids in the car and leave, driving on the wrong side of the road as the fire truck is on the other side, the heat and smell was awful and the water bomber wets the house as its fighting the fire. Im an absolute wreck, crying but trying to stay calm for the kids and waiting for hubby to follow as hes locking up doors/windows. We head back to the empty rental with an airbed, Change of clothes and the important document box. About 8:30pm we head back dreading what we will find and cant get back in due to road blocks and not having proof of address on us, eventually we get through, they must have felt sorry for the worn out kids, and miraculously all the houses are fine. The firerys did such an amazing job, they were wonderful. The house stinks of smoke, ash everywhere but we have our home. We even saw my hubby on the news twice, once gettin gout his ute when i was leaving and he was interviewed the following morning. Im so glad eveything is ok and were all safe..
