We got a call from HGWA saying that brickwork would start either the 25th or 26th of June. We were surprised and thrilled with how much was done in just a few days! With a bit of luck we might be done with brickwork by the end of the week Also met with the site supervisor last Tuesday. Seems to be on top of things, he reckons it usually takes about 7 months from when brickwork begins to completion. Doesn't seem too bad after going through the admin process, at least we can see progress! Re: Monte Carlo/Bellevue - HGWA - Brickwork 50Jul 06, 2015 8:44 pm Congratulations on getting to brick work. Looking forward to seeing it take shape Re: Monte Carlo/Bellevue - HGWA - Brickwork 51Jul 14, 2015 12:30 pm Quick update from this weekend's visit. Brickwork looks like it is almost done, just a few window sills and other bits and pieces here and there before they will be complete. We were told last Thursday that we had reached plate height, however after visiting on Saturday we had noticed a few things that weren't complete: the Entry was only built to 28 courses high (should be 31 courses), the window sill in our Laundry WC hadn't had the brickwork completed, and our Ensuite window should have a soldier sill but does not. We had noticed the weekend before that they hadn't done the 31 course high brickwork in the Entry but figured they were still working on it and would have picked up on that. We've emailed HGWA about this and will await their response. Anyway, the rest of the house looks great and the site has been cleaned. Roof timbers soon! Our building journey viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77582 Re: Monte Carlo/Bellevue - HGWA - Plate Height 55Aug 06, 2015 10:53 pm Hi all, It's been a little bit slower for the last few weeks, not a lot to report on. They've now fixed the brickwork that wasn't complete in our last update and this week have began work on the roofing. Happy to report that the roof is now complete, along with the electrical wiring and plumbing. We're loving the dune roof colour! Hopefully the colours we have chosen for the render at the front will complement it nicely. Had a look today and the plasterer was onsite doing the prep work for the render, which should start Monday. Things seem to be moving along more quickly than we had anticipated.
