Just went to the PD web site and realised that they have a new essential series. One of the design Catalina is exactly the same as Cremorne but very much cheaper. http://www.porterdavis.com.au/content/p ... ochure.pdf The difference being 2440mm ceiling in Catalina as compared to 2590mm in Cremorne and 600mm cooktop compared to 900mm cooktop. Does the higher ceiling and cooktop size justify more than $10k difference in price ? The inclusions are more at an "Access" level whereas the Highton and Catalina are "lifestyle" homes, you are also not able to take advantage of the current promo when building either of these homes. Re: PD New Design 3Jun 02, 2008 11:34 am Hi Hysterical,
Bel and I were discussing this last week and then I also spoke to our sales guy. The Catalina is all standard and basic, cheaper appliances, lower roof height etc and no offer of promotion. I think if people were to start "adding" on variations for items you get as standard in the Cremorne then you'd be better off paying the extra $20k and going for the Cremorne - and then being able to add the promo too. Toni Re: PD New Design 4Jun 02, 2008 3:17 pm Yep as Toni mentioned...I also spoke to my s/c and he said by the time you added all the upgrades to the Catalina to get to the Cremorne you are looking at the same price, plus you can't add the promo.
Still a great option for those on a tighter budget My karma ran over your dogma Re: PD New Design 5Jun 02, 2008 4:27 pm We did the numbers on the Highton 29 (building the Francis) a couple of months ago and it came to around $15k more than the base price of the Francis with the features we wanted, not to mentioned the added extras we got in the promo. Once you know the basics, the rest is easy.
