I adore our new home. The dining suite arrived a couple of weeks ago and I refer to the table as my fourth child - I love it that much . We are still waiting to get our pendants installed, hopefully tomorrow. We should also be getting the shutters installed next week . My mental state is sooo much better. I was a mess toward the end of the build. No concentration at all and I just couldn't focus or remember things. Can you believe that my MIL misses us? She was here on Tuesday looking after my youngest and was in no hurry to leave. I made a joke about it being because she was missing us and she said "yes I do actually". Wow. Study: Front bedrooms: As you can see, no landscaping yet. That's going to take a while. We need to build three retaining walls before we can do the front lawn Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - WE'RE IN! 773Oct 26, 2015 5:38 pm And my favourite... my fourth child - also known as the dining table - with pendants over it. It looks SPECTACULAR. Don't underestimate the difference a couple of nice pendants can make. We need to replace one of the benchtop pendants as it was damaged so you can only see one in the background of one of these pics. I'll post a pic of the bench when it's replaced. The middle two can be swiveled to put all four pendants in a row: The fourth child: You can see one of the island pendants in the background: Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - WE'RE IN! 774Oct 26, 2015 5:45 pm Wow I'm loving all of those! I want plantation shutters for our ensuite now as that's the only thing we dislike now - the fact light pours in in the mornings haha My build viewtopic.php?t=76386 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - WE'RE IN! 775Oct 26, 2015 5:51 pm The light comes around the edges a bit more than I'd like - but they're still pretty great. We had roller shutters in our old house and the darkness was pretty absolute. The shutters let light in around the edges, but it won't bother the boys. Do you have a door on your ensuite? I can't remember. How's it going BTW shanni? I still say "I love our house!" at least once a day. Usually many more times. The design is so perfect for us. There are one or two things I would change and they are tiny (tea/coffee drawer under the kettle and coffee maker for cups and spoons etc). It feels like we've lived here forever, but seems unreal that this sparkly new house is all ours Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - WE'RE IN! 776Oct 26, 2015 5:54 pm No we didn't put any doors we wish we had put cavity sliders now haha It's all going great and yes I say something like that quite often too haha we have been pretty slack with some things. Wanted to paint at least one of the kids bedroom walls on the weekend but got lazy haha finally got the office sorted out so happy about that at least. I often wonder how you are going with having the space now. We just wish we put a door to the kids lounge and bedrooms as my youngest likes to get up at 5.30 and blast the tv lol My build viewtopic.php?t=76386 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - WE'RE IN! 777Oct 26, 2015 5:59 pm We've often talked about that door, even before we built we ummed and ahhhed about it. Some days I regret not putting it in (just past the pantry), but mostly I'm glad we didn't. I think it would make the house seem a lot smaller. My boys tend to gravitate toward the home theatre - which is a toy room for now - of a morning and that's got extra sound insulation so I don't hear them. I hear you on the lazy thing. The first two weeks we were all gung ho but things have... slowed. Our study is full of boxes, our yards are disaster zones and we haven't hung a single picture. I figure it doesn't matter too much if we take our time - at least we'll get it right! That's what I tell myself anyway We've been entertaining every single weekend too, which makes it hard. Our alfresco is getting a massive workout. I think we've had more people over in these past three weeks than we did in the last three years at our old house! We were meant to have a family dinner the weekend just gone but my dad ended up having to fly back to work as him and my brother both do fifo but Christmas is at ours this year so that will be our big entertaining day haha I've started buying decorations finally lol My build viewtopic.php?t=76386 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - WE'RE IN! 779Oct 26, 2015 6:06 pm We've got about 20 people (including us) coming over again this Saturday. I never thought I was an entertainer, but it was all about the house. Crappy little kitchen and no room to put people. It's so much easier now Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - WE'RE IN! 780Oct 26, 2015 6:10 pm Yea it's definitely much easier! I love that my entertaining stuff fits in my pantry now instead of having it in the laundry like I did at my last place lol I've had more movie nights here than anything lol once I got my new lounge for the media room and my blackout curtains it made it perfect for us haha My build viewtopic.php?t=76386 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37085 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19068 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13437 |
