Browse Forums Building A New House Re: building with Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 21Mar 26, 2015 9:28 am Im building with adlington homes who is a small private builder in my area. Im yet to pick my colours, but i like your render colour. How has your build been so far? stressfree? did you get a private building inspector for your build? Re: building with Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 22Mar 26, 2015 9:33 am Its been very smooth so far no issues. Touch wood. Yes, I have engaged Derbecca pty ltd to inspect my build. Few minor issues have found and raised with supervisor to resolve it. Re: building with Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 27Apr 22, 2015 2:19 pm Your house is looking great. Nice job from DF team. Love that skylight, great idea to have one living. Can you make it closed on hot sunny day too? Re: building with Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 29Apr 22, 2015 8:50 pm Would you mind asking, how much skylight cost you? me thinking to get one done post handover. Re: building with Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 31Apr 22, 2015 9:24 pm bjasani not at all, It cost me $2400 for Velux 780 x 1180 Fixed skylight. Thanks, that's pricey for one skylight Re: building with Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 33Apr 22, 2015 9:42 pm Fantastic, that's more realistic cost then. Re: Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 - Final inspection 34May 18, 2015 11:57 am Hi Peeps, Update: Exciting times now. Final inspection done with external inspector and found few issues. I have forwarded the report to builder to rectify all the issues. Bank has ordered the final valuation... I recon soon we will be having handover... very pleased with Dennis Family homes work. very well done...(According to independent inspector)..hahaha Re: Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 - Final inspection 35May 18, 2015 3:19 pm Congrats, that's a great news mate. Independent inspectors tell everyone pretty much same stuff Re: Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 - Final inspection 37May 22, 2015 8:21 pm House looks great! We are also building with Dennis Family but the Lakewood. Just a quick question, we never thought about using a private inspector and are at the fixout stage now. What sort of things did they tell you need to be rectified? Thanking you, Dayna Re: Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 - Final inspection 38May 22, 2015 9:26 pm HI Dayna, Thank you ... hope you are happy with the building process as well. Independent inspector will identify all the Major/Minor issues with the each stage and tell you how it should be done according to building standards.. Mostly all builders uses shortcut to complete the build and many people had really major issues with their built. For example: slab is not correct size, frame is not correctly installed, damp proofing etc etc.. list will go on and on... I strongly recommend that you should have now final inspection... you will be surprised to see many issues we have never encountered before.. especially if you are building for first time. Hope this helps... Cheers bjasani Re: Dennis Family Home - Cosgrove 292 - Final inspection 40Jun 01, 2015 10:05 am Congratulations! Must be exciting to be moving into your new home soon. Have all your issues been rectified? Hi everyone, Newbie renovator here, after some advice for combining our family room in the picture and the alfresco and make a larger family room. There is a flush sill… 0 4877 It seems very clear to me that your contract states that a security account does NOT need to be established so the answer to the builder is NO. If in doubt find a contract… 1 8501 2 31332 |
