Been a long time between updates as I've been busy busy at work and in Melbourne for a week. But the jist of it is... the brickie is still working on it. We found out it was just a 1 man team - a young guy. The work he has done is great but then he was sick for a week (during perfect bricklaying weather), then last week had terrible weather but still the progress has been VERY slow - we are now into the 5th week of bricklaying for a relatively small house and he hasn't even finished the face brick yet. Even more frustrating is that we found a difference in the mortar across the back wall. Raised it with 101 Friday afternoon, and again on Wednesday when we hadn't heard back and still waiting to hear what is going to be done. I guess it will be taken down and redone.
I know I should be happy to at least have a brickie on site (mostly) given others are still waiting but we are frustrated that when the weather is good there still doesn't appear to be much progress. We met the site supervisor 2 weeks ago for our brick meeting but it was very formal and he didn't really instill much confidence that he was going to be keeping on top of the tradies.
Fingers crossed things keep moving along I guess.
