Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Just started building and soil removal costs? 6Jul 22, 2014 7:46 am poohbear I hope costs like this doesn't just pop up that easily.. Most of the stuff they have only guessed at, and haven't costed exactly, are in those early stages where they haven't yet flattened the block or poured the slab. We also had a bit of extra concrete, for the slab, which hadn't been in the allowance (only about $500 or so, but money is money). The only extra costs we've had since then (we're nearly finished) have been when we've added things as we've had things built; eg. we've got two garage doors, because the 2nd one is for a workshop/shed I hadn't originally had an electric door-opener added, but because it's such a heavy door they suggested maybe we would want an electric door opener. So only nice-to-have stuff like that. PM me your email. I have a build excavation calculator you can use based on your plans to double check what your builder is telling you. Cheers Simeon 1 10169 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this.
