Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - LOCKUP! 81Feb 13, 2015 11:29 am Hahaha I wish. I think we are still fairly even with you guys. When I went down on Monday we didn't have any shower screens but the mirrors were in and the painter was there. We were also told the paving was due to start this week but we aren't sure if it has or not. I'm going to assume not because the email I got from Zoe just mentioned the painter being there (which I already knew about hahaha!). And as for the PCI thing she gave us the same answer as you guys. Our tiling was completed on the 22nd Jan so going worst case 10 weeks from then we are at the 2nd April, which is cr@p because my holidays end 30th March. Neither of our places have much left to do so I don't possibly know what could take them another 6 and a half weeks! Haahaha Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 82Feb 13, 2015 3:52 pm Yeah whats with that? Well fingers crossed for us both then. My hubby starts a new job on the 23rd march so we were hoping to get in the week before that while he is on holidays but im not holding my breatg. Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 83Feb 19, 2015 3:17 pm Hi Charnelle, just caught up on your build, how's the quality of it all now? Everything picked up? Glad to hear you're cruising along at a nice pace I definitely think 10 weeks is a long estimate from tiles to PCI so keep your fingers crossed and I'm sure you'll be in, in no time It's looking great! Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 84Feb 19, 2015 11:55 pm Thanks Quality has picked up a lot since the new SS has been in charge. Everything has been pretty smooth sailing after I chucked my spat weeks ago.We are feeling happier with how it's all turning out. Our ss told us 8-10 from tiling and our CLO said 6-8 so i just kinda went with worst case for an estimate but even our CLO said things could be a bit sooner. I also think I'm due to upload some photos soon so I'll try pop down tomorrow and upload some photos over the weekend Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 85Feb 24, 2015 11:27 pm Ahh... Spoke to soon. Nothing but door handles done last week after paving was supposed to be started weeks ago and garage door install was ment to be Thurs. Surprise surprise. Not done. Not even started..... Probably just shouldn't be positive about the build because everytime I am HGWA seem to throw it back in our faces... Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 86Feb 24, 2015 11:31 pm I'll commiserate with you, HGWA are letting quite a few of us down at the moment. I've learnt to not believe anything they say and just roll with it. That and scope out their pre start room because that's where me, hubby, daughter and dog will be living come end of March if we don't have keys in time to move. Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 87Feb 24, 2015 11:38 pm I feel for you Marcia We at least have a roof over our heads for as long as we need but it's not the point when we've all waiting well over a year and it's not finished yet. I can also now see why people begin to just accept there houses with a heaps of issues. Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 88Feb 24, 2015 11:40 pm charnelleee I feel for you Marcia We at least have a roof over our heads for as long as we need but it's not the point when we've all waiting well over a year and it's not finished yet. I can also now see why people begin to just accept there houses with a heaps of issues. That's what they bank on. Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 89Feb 25, 2015 10:15 pm That sux guys. We have had things getting done most days.. Got our carpets today and site clean. I think the plumbers are going to hold us up. Still waiting for them to come back and install our powder room pedestal and fix the toilet. Hope you get lots of tradies for the rest of the week. Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 90Feb 25, 2015 11:27 pm The longer you live in your house the more you except or lets just say learn to live with some issues because it becomes to hard . Not that it should be like that but it just happens . Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 92Mar 04, 2015 10:26 am Nope. Pavings not even started last we checked. And the site is a bomb site so the paving can't start until the rubbish is moved. Blinds and fly screens still need to go on. Really Disappointing. 9 month build time is a joke. My work mates slab went down in October and shes getting keys maybe next week. Granted she still has to paint and do flooring but still not good enough. Fingers crossed for you at least Bel, you'll have yours soon Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 93Mar 04, 2015 5:44 pm Pfft i dont count on it either. Seriously how hard is it to give someone a date. Its ridiculous hey. All the promises that we will make up time during your build. Blah blah blah. Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 94Mar 09, 2015 8:49 pm Paving was FINALLY completed last week along with the fly screens and garage install on Friday. So really all that's left is a final site clean, final electrical and plumbing and blind install. We have 2 weeks of holidays booked starting from Monday and I seriously hope we have keys before Easter (which is coincidently when we we're supposed to have prestart last year before they had to reschedule due to the office shutting down for a "meeting" for half the day...) And because it's difficult for me to get time off and I want to enjoy my new house! It's pretty much the only reason we have 2 weeks of at this time. Lets see if HGWA can do some magic and end the build on a positive note :p Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - No PCI date yet.... 95Mar 10, 2015 12:42 am Finally some photos! I bet u can't wait to get keys. Are those tiles in the living area black or the hgwa dark brown? Thankyou They are the black Della Vita tiles. They look really nice in real life when they are actually clean hahaha Yes, I have. But, I haven't paid yet.
