YAY. I guess we are pretty lucky if it does start next week considering some people are waiting up to 10 weeks :/ The boy went to the block today too, sheds been filled (was delivered just after the bricks) we have yellow sand and more door frames!!! (Damaged frame not yet replaced) Starting to get excited again! Hehehe Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 24Aug 21, 2014 10:29 pm YAY Nel, did they say how long brickwork will take? Building in Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook with Aussie Living current stage: Locked Up Est Handover Beginning of Dec My thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65509 Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 25Aug 21, 2014 10:46 pm Nah no word on how long it will take. We didn't even ask how long till brick she just sent us an update Might see if we can pop out and see how many brickies we have and maybe ask them :p haha Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 26Aug 23, 2014 1:26 am Good news on bricks starting - I didn't realise you were so far in your build Your alfresco is going to be wonderful! Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 27Sep 06, 2014 6:13 pm So turns out nothing has happened since our CLO advised us we'd be getting brick layers soon...... When we asked what was happening she said they had just lost a bricklaying team and now need to find another team with their "High quality standards"... Now one thing here that's really angered me and my OH off (OH is not easily angered might I add) is that they have managed to get bricklayers out to other sites who have not been waiting as long as we have. While I am happy for the people who are finally (after alot of issues themselves) getting something done, I am not happy that HGWA have pushed others back. Beggining to get very angry with them... In saying all this we have not had a look this week to see if anything has been done, purely because there's a 90% chance nothing has been done, but we will go have a look on Monday and if nothing has been done our CLO will be getting a lovely email from us. While I am happy for the people who are finally (after alot of issues themselves) getting something done, I am not happy that HGWA have pushed others back. Beggining to get very angry with them... Welcome to our world! That is why our slab took so long to be poured. It has incensed my husband for months, there is no rhyme or reason as to how they allocate the trades. This is why we have decided 'stuff em' and started complaining. We picked up this 'problem' with the way they do things way back in February and we have had to fight every step of the way to get to where we are today. Your in Byford ... from the story I got back in June, HGWA are struggling to get bricklayers to the southern suburbs. They all want to work north and won't come south. How much truth to it, who knows. BUT I do know from family who are site supers for Dale Alcock group there is a major bottleneck with bricklayers and while it is slowly improving, there are still delays. Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 29Sep 06, 2014 7:34 pm Sorry to hear you're also facing delays charnelleee - fingers crossed you can get some progress soon Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 30Sep 06, 2014 7:35 pm I totally see your frustration with them now Marcia. I've kept fairly positive through most of it with the "don't rush it, it will happen when it's supposed to" attitude up until now. But once you get angry you think about all the little things that they have done to make you angry. *Sigh* I'm just hoping that come Monday something has happened. Even a loo will be progress! Even if the slab is marked out i'll be content. But if at least one of our builds can finally get on track is a start. Maybe they just have a thing against people who build the Rivello Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 31Sep 06, 2014 8:31 pm charnelleee Maybe they just have a thing against people who build the Rivello I think you're onto something there ... the other HGWA build in our suburb is also a Rivello and they waited nine weeks for bricklayers. We got their bricklayers when they finished! Husband went for a walk when he was home and we had no loo, sand, shed, nothing. He flew back last Monday and then I got the call Friday. So I'd say they deliver all the guff when they are just about ready. Hopefully it won't be too much longer and I feel for your frustration. When 'Dylan' rang me last week I mentioned to him that it isn't anger or frustration or despair ... it's a combination off all three. Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 32Sep 07, 2014 9:49 pm Oddly enough we've had a shed, sand, all exterior window/door frames and the interior frames for a few weeks, just missing the loo, even the shed is full haha! Well until they get the butt into gear on our build I'm going to be going crazy overs yours! I'm excited to see another Rivello Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 33Sep 07, 2014 9:53 pm charnelleee Oddly enough we've had a shed, sand, all exterior window/door frames and the interior frames for a few weeks, just missing the loo, even the shed is full haha! Well until they get the butt into gear on our build I'm going to be going crazy overs yours! I'm excited to see another Rivello The the other HGWA house around the corner is a Rivello and they haven't changed anything, it's original. Went for a walk through it today and it was awesome to get a sense of what we are building. We've made enough changes for it to be a bit hard to work it out, but close enough that I got an idea. I will say it looks awesome from the front, with that blade wall. I can't wait to see ours with a portico on the front tho! The bricklayers we have came from there - they took 7 weeks to lay the bricks!! But on our site they did more in one day than they did in almost a week on the other site. So fingers crossed they've got their speedy motors on! Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 34Sep 08, 2014 11:47 am Hi Nellie and Chris, Just posting to subscribe to your build journey. If at any point you need any assistance, please get in touch with me and I will do my best to put you in touch with the right person here at HGWA. Also a quick note to let you know we are working hard on securing some quality bricklayers for your build. Thank you so much for your patience. Kind Regards, Dylan Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build - BRICKIES 35Sep 17, 2014 11:11 pm BRICKIES STARTED TODAY WOOO HOOOO! Wasn't too much done just the first couple of rows around the outside of the slab but WOOOOOOO progress is progress!!!! Having the bricks laid today and my excitement going through the roof has made think about all the ups and down of biulding ahaha and we've only just started. Going to stay optimistic and hope that in the end it will allll be worth it Re: Nellie & Chris's HGWA build 36Sep 17, 2014 11:26 pm WOOHOO for Brickies.
