Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Daydream- Modified Daydream28 -Acre Build in Bucca 81Sep 15, 2014 11:37 am I would have burst into tears too! I'm so glad they are able to fix it up for you. I know you've probably posted it somewhere, but what kind of flooring are you having in your kitchen? I like the high gloss white cabinets too, but we're thinking of going with a sandy/cream-coloured tile and I don't know if it will look odd. Might have to go for a creamy coloured cabinet. We're getting black benchtops so I think it will look okay. But getting back to you.... oh my gosh, you must be so excited! Have they given you a date yet? Tiles we are going for in the main area is Beaumont Tiles- Cretement Ash White-- very durable Its almost a concrete look which should go nicely with the ocean foam stone top, the gloss white cupboards and the charcoal splashback. Very excited to see those going down. Building a Modified Coral Daydream 28, first build, first home and land owners. Acreage Build in Buccan, QLD. The cabinets have to be remade and I am hoping at the very most we should be in by 8 weeks time... AT the most! Tiles have been delivered yesterday, I am hoping it will be full steam ahead from here and if they really put their heads down and get on with it it could be 4 weeks lol... Here's hoping!!! Room for the two new puppies Re: Coral Daydream-- Almost at Handover 88Oct 24, 2014 10:17 am Well we are finally there, we did our walkthrough yesterday that was fun... 2.5 hours later and multiple coloured dots on the walls everywhere. Coral now has 2 weeks to fix the defects and then we can move in YAY!!! No major issues as such... Caesarstone join is a bit rough in the kitchen Carpets been cut too short in the WIR's Flyscreens because they are aluminium have multiple dents in them Plumber installed our ensuite shower head at the wrong height And finally paint defects... but that is to be expected I think our main issues have been with the plumber.... cant follow a drawing to save his life.. But all other trades have been great, highly recommend the sparkies and the tilers and even the painters have done a good job so far. We have an independent inspection for practical completion booked for Tuesday, and Coral's Quality Control is going around on Monday. But apart from that everything is going good, we have been so happy with all our colour choices etc, now we just need to get a washing line, post box and we have a functioning house!! Apparently it is company policy after doing the walkthrough and leading up to handover we are no longer allowed to go to the house. BOO!!!! Just like the other pics I was looking at the other day (jwbears I think) I got all excited over the pantry LOL. I have three boys and the teensiest pantry right now which drives us mental! LOVE your kitchen and bathroom. And the storage outside the main and, and, and! Love it all. Man it must be driving you mental not to be able to stroll around and drool over your gorgeous new house. Two weeks will pass in no time though. I didn't realise how close to the front of the house the kitchen is. It's not a problem, I just never really noticed before. I've never actually BEEN in a Daydream since there are none on display in NSW. Thank you so much for taking the time to email the pics to me Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Coral Daydream- Modified Daydream28 -Acre Build in Bucca 95Oct 24, 2014 12:32 pm The distance between the front door and kitchen is roughly about 4+ metres… the entry isn’t huge but it’s a waste of space anyway and we got rid of the store cupboard there too to make it a little bigger. Yes I am in love with the storage in my house.. our WIR we call Narnia because it is literally big enough for a bedroom and the pantry makes me giddy lol, I love cooking so it really is my dream pantry for storage. And yes that huge cupboard outside the master bedroom is massive it got made a metre longer than the standard because we pushed the house out by ½ metre here and there. I wanted to take a photo of the ensuite shower but unfortunately the plumbers stuffed that up with the height and have to redo it… IDIOTS. I hope you get good plumbers! Just think bright side you will move in very very soon and all the stress and hard work is OVER:) thanks for your advice too. About lock in for price: the coral Sales consultant said the price from we paid $1600 deposit we able to lock for 4months ONLY?! If we lock the price now after 4months our land maybe just registered. That mean we still going to pay for the new price isnot it? How you guys doing on your land for lock the price down? wow after saw Mellywil comment on the photos you just send to her. I was very excited to see it too Can i? Same as Mellywil we are in NSW so we donot have daydream display home here:( I guess we all love daydream series beacause the huge pantry, storage space and large outdoor area. Can you able to load all the photos with link like JWBEAR did so we can all see some great photos of your beautiful new home! Re: Coral Daydream- Modified Daydream28 -Acre Build in Bucca 97Oct 27, 2014 10:27 am Well it is so hard that we don't have a key anymore. I just want to be in the house already!!! Room for the two new puppies Re: Coral Daydream- Modified Daydream28 -Acre Build in Bucca 100Oct 27, 2014 9:22 pm Thanks for the pics the house looks great! i like the colours you have chosen. It's a shame about not having the key any more but at least that means its pretty much yours soon and you will be in for xmas this year though you might have to get some xmas lights for the new house, we are soughta glad we wont be in by xmas so we don't have to worry about that yet haha Though we should be in before easter so at least it isn't that far away from when we get the new house With those sought of prices for the electricals i don't feel bad about getting some things done through the electrician and not coral and so we can have a ball park figure to try and budget a bit. Quick question though, did the electrician install the led light stripping under the cabinets to turn on with the kitchen lights or do they have a little switch on the side of them to turn them on? Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14759 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4837 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 19387 |
