Room for the two new puppies Re: Coral Daydream- Modified Daydream28 -Acre Build in Bucca 22Aug 04, 2014 8:54 am Just give us a link to your flickr page, and we can find them ourselves. I'm sure there's a thread somewhere on the forums showing you how to add the photos to your posts, but I would suggest you post no more than 3 photos per post... just make many more posts if you have a lot of photos. ... there's a reason why I suggest that, each page of posts is the number of posts, not size of posts, so if you have one posts with stacks of pictures it'll take ages to load that page of posts, but if you post your pictures across several posts, the thread will soon go on to a new page. Also if some one replies to a post with pictures in it, they tend to leave the pictures in the quote text, so if there's only a couple of pictures it's not so bad, but if it is a post with say 10 pictures it adds to everyones page load time. Now that's said all that, with the size of your fences, how big are your little puppies going to be ? Out of all the blocks on that side of your road, I think you guys probably got the block I would've chosen, as you'd get less passing traffic noise. You need to go on to flickr and make your pictures shareable. Once you have done that you will be able to share, then bbcode to get the link to put in to your posts. It looks HUGE! I find it interesting that you've opened your study up - we've gone the complete opposite route and are getting acoustic insulation to keep the noise from the kids' loungeroom out! So much is happening finally Windows and doors are in, roof is finished, sisal is on, insulation batts are still in the bags but are up in the ceiling ready to go. Solar Hot water panels have been installed, plumbing has been wired in. My partner is meeting the electrician on site today to do the rough in. Vacumaid people, data cabling and plumber back on Wednesday and brickies start on Thursday It looks like a house now so happy. Only one change that we have had to make and its because we didnt notice the measurements on the final construction plan so thats our mistake but its being rectified. Our ensuite shower was only 1.5 long and we wanted 1.8 long so we dont have to have a door, so plumbers have to dig out the slab to get to the plumbing and then redo it, but I am told it is an easy fix. Oh and spoke to the brickie about the off white mortar he is only charging us $250 cash price, then the $875 Coral wanted for the same thing, so saving money there Building a Modified Coral Daydream 28, first build, first home and land owners. LOL[/quote] The reason we did this... is that it is a fire hazard with small kids, if there was a fire in the kitchen essentially anyone in the bedrooms at the front are stuck and only way out is windows... and not sure a toddler/ baby is capable of doing that. And we also wanted to open the area up, I didnt really like the study when I saw it in the Toowoombah display home thought it was quite pokey. Glad you liked the photos I will post a few more Building a Modified Coral Daydream 28, first build, first home and land owners. Acreage Build in Buccan, QLD. Normal mortar makes the bricks like these look dirty. I'm doing Boral Sandstone Gold double heights on my place, but there's a home with the same bricks, but with normal mortar used down in the new QM estate on Hotz Road Logan Village, so next time you're out this way you might like to take a look, and see that your $250 is very well spent. It's great that you were able to get on to your brickie to get that price. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Glad you liked the photos I will post a few more [/quote] I certainly would like to see some more photos - love following your build Good idea with the fire hazard. Not something that I'd considered, but our kids are beyond toddler stage now so I think they could manage alright with windows in the worst case scenario. I haven't had the luxury of seeing the display home though I had a friend who lives up there go through and video it for me, but that's all I've got to go on. I've considered flying up for a day trip to check it out, but I haven't been able to find the time. There was an old Seikusi house that they no longer offer that was very similar in design (called the Piazza) and they had the open study - through to the kids' rooms - in the display home I saw. One of the first things I said when I went though it though was "I'd close this door up" so I guess the Daydream was right up my alley! The world would be boring if we all had the same tastes You got a great deal on the mortar! I hope we can manage to do this when the time comes. Both the husband and myself are NOT good at bargaining or anything like that so it'll be a challenge for us to do this stuff. Can't wait to see more pics, especially when the bricks are going up Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Coral Daydream- Modified Daydream28 -Acre Build in Bucca 39Aug 15, 2014 11:09 am 15/08/2014 update Bricks are going up and they look fabulous We are so happy with them, look nice and light and modern! And the off white mortar is great. The electrical rough in is all done now, 1km of electrical cable later... Vacumaid system--- all in Mistake with the Shower in the ensuite--- slab has been dug up, nib wall extended and pushed back, we now have our long shower we wanted (1.75m) , perfect!! Plumbing-- All done, cost us $150 cash to get an additional outdoor tap in that we wanted outside the master bedroom near to the outdoor area. Additional data point for the nbn connection- $140 cash Electrical-- will be interesting to find out how much extra we have spent directly with the electricians.. we were warned not to go through Clipsal for all our electrical and get the sparkies on site to do it all and pay them direct.. So thats a wait and see for the invoice to come through. Plasterboard is being delivered on Monday so its all systems go from here on out finally Interesting thing we found out from our site supervisor.. all steel frames through Coral are being delayed by up to 4-6 weeks due to them not being able to order them before the final construction plans are done and signed off. Will keep you all updated and will post some more pics on the weekend. Building a Modified Coral Daydream 28, first build, first home and land owners. Acreage Build in Buccan, QLD. Were you told that NBN was available there ? The size of the estate was too small to be included in any NBN rollout. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13745 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1765 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17511 |
